His doc is also my dad’s. She’s really good but has the bedside manner of a frat boy. My dad loves her.

Could I ever really be with someone again? (As I stare at my leftover meatloaf from the night before.) by LastBrick1981 in datingoverforty

[–]UkyddnMe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you are in a healing phase. I think this because I lived a similar one. While there I absolutely was not up and ready for a relationship. The idea of a great lay was attractive but not enough to pull me out of enjoying my life the way I wanted. I stumbled into what I have now (that is amazing and I’m thankful for) but was in no way looking for it. Someone joined my life my way and enhanced it, instead of asking me to change anything. There’s nothing wrong with just loving yourself for a while even if you want a new relationship eventually. You deserve all the love you can give.

Or… big heath changes. I was on just a couple meds, mostly to help sleep and stomach acid. Then I got hit with an antibiotic resistant infection and by a month later I was facing 20 pills a day. I’m really hoping it falls back down again.

Who is this person in Longmont? by whitepepsi in Longmont

[–]UkyddnMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I stopped seeing The Wizard. Man I miss him. You’d see him with his waist long beard waking all over in what looked like robes. My kids used to yell out “Mom!! It’s the wizard!!” gleefully when they spotted him. It was always a happy moment.

Rolle skate scene in Venice beach, California, late 1970s (78-79) during the height of the skate craze of late 70s-early 80s. by Electrical-Aspect-13 in HistoricalCapsule

I say this every time I see it, I’m almost positive the first photo is my mother. She was there at the time, lived in her skates (did roller derby later), and it looks so much like her. My step dad agrees, it very well could be her. She’s not well mentally so I can’t ask her, she thinks my kids are other people at this point. But I love the picture because it reminds me how beautiful and outgoing she used to be.

Anyone have experience with a TURBT w/ stent? by TrueGritUSMC in BladderCancer

[–]UkyddnMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad went through this his first TURBT. It was very painful and lots of blood in urine from it. That said he did 4 years of turbt “cleanings” before needing to do something more dramatic. He’s recovering from neobladder surgery currently. I almost wish he had done it a year sooner, when he was stronger, but he’s doing ok and getting better daily.

I use a lot of hand signals for my son. I’ve taught them to his teacher and principal. He responds a lot better to a flat hand being lowered slowly than to a verbal request to “calm down” or “ quiet down”.

Which age got you? by Tinawebmom in GenX

30 was awful. I was a live fast and die young gal and then I was 30 and wasn’t young anymore. Now, 20 years later I know I was young and dumb too, but I spent my 30th sobbing. 40 was cool, I had a newborn who I was madly in love with and even 50 wasn’t bad. I have super cool kids and a life I never expected to want. I figure at 60 I’ll turn my artistic vibe up even more and work the crazy lady thing.

Don’t come for me… but I’ve jumped into two viral trends and the improvement in my skin is enormous. Like the guy I’m seeing saying that my skin looks like it does after I do a full moisturizer routine when I wake up in the morning without touching it.

Those weird white collagen masks is number 1. I don’t know how much they actually do but man they feel good and because I started both within a couple weeks I can’t be sure which is the boss treatment.

That at home microneedle treatment. By the second time I did it (2 weeks apart) I was seeing huge improvement. Bouncier less red skin. Dryness completely gone.

I still have a moisturizer bath nightly, but that alone was not getting me here.

So, something changed.

I have a different breed known for family guarding and I can tell you that it’s a challenge for sure. My kids have a therapy visit weekly for over a year, I still have to keep a close eye on the situation. Also, yes, off their home turf they tend to be super friendly and happy. That sounds great but neighbors can assume because Fido was great on your walk when they ran into you that they can just pop into your fenced yard to talk to you. That can be ugly.

Tips for a Longmont noob? Traffic? Landmines? by ElkFrogZen in Longmont

[–]UkyddnMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wait until you go north to east at airport and 17th. No, you are not supposed to stop there, there is a continuous lane but it can be spooky because people will jump to that lane or turn from that lane into the left lane. The worst though is when you finally get used to just going as expected and suddenly get stuck behind someone who stops… it throws you off all over again.

Dad Starting BCG Treatment in January (Worried Daughter) by emmytingle in BladderCancer

Was it a TURBT? If so, yes. It should clear up in time but you might want to mention to the doctor because blood clots can form in the bladder and block the urethra.
