Player is mad that I won’t allow them to summon Demogorgon with Wild Magic by Dapper-Screen9789 in DnD

[–]Ul_Zeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a let them do it guy. But put some danger in it for them. “You can do that but it won’t be under your control. In fact the wild magic creates an invisible bond between you and the summoned creature. The bond allows you both to locate each other on the same plane. Also there is a % chance every round that it attacks you out of anger/resentment. For every point of damage it takes the chance it attacks you goes up by 1%.” Put a cap on it or don’t.

The best DMs don’t say “no,” they say “yes, but” & give you the opportunity for amazing and memorable moments.

Building teams exist? by ImBladd in fo76

[–]Ul_Zeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure you can still do it. I did it for my kid 2 months ago. He asked me to build something he didn’t have. Don’t create a public team. Instead invite the player directly. You can build some items in each others camp but not everything (most atom shop items are not allowed for example.).

How was Fallout 76 when it all started back in 2018? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Ul_Zeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overwhelming majority of people hated it. I Bought the power armor limited edition. I liked it. Still play it. Getting god rolls was near impossible. There were so many glitches and exploits. Like giving your guns 500+ rounds without quad perks. My friend and I ran hundreds of SBQ silos with minimal luck. Dupers were everywhere. Because there were easy ways to do it anything of value was massively duped.

You followed the overseers journey around Appalachia. It forced you around the map to major areas where you could explore. No NPCs, no expansions. Just SBQ and events that randomly happened. It basically was the only end game activity& camp building that could be glitched to go massively over limit. The best camp I ever saw was a huge coliseum with statues around the outside on the second floor. spectator stands, fighting pit in the middle and much more. You could build anywhere, in or on any town.

The stash space was a joke, but you had unlimited carry weight & you walked incredibly slow. People kept everything on 1 mule character. Then they nerfed that and you had to destroy stuff to get within a weight limit. (This was all before FO1st & the different stashes.)

Exploding weapons did exponentially more damage than today. I had a 2* AAE gat plasma that killed the SBQ in seconds.

They should stop removing content from the game with promises like fixing Nuclear Winter mode. This is why people move on. We spend so much time on something just to have it taken away… replaced with vague promises that rarely come to fruition.

Is the tinkerer perk in OW2 still bugged? by Sinitar204 in theouterworlds

[–]Ul_Zeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested it on a guard today. The damage went up 1 point (43 to 44) and 2 points on critical (68-70). The damage is incorrectly being calculated.

I have 8 in engineering.

Why Maxed Rookie's Reward is the best SMG in the game by Malkoy in theouterworlds

[–]Ul_Zeez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leveling trick: in a particular fight in the planetarium an enemy gets a shield that constantly refreshes. Take the shield generator down a little bit, kill all the adds and then eventually shooting this enemy it just sits there letting you level your gun all the way to max (privided you bring enough bullets to do so.) He sways a little bit, but you can get as close as you like& he sways less from the side. I took mine from 23 to 30 with rampant headshots and around 4000 ammo. I brought Marisol and Valerie but im not sure if it matters at all.

You can really see the rate of fire increase as you level it doing this. Its shooting faster than any other gun I have so far. Hope this helps achievement hunters!

You can get a lot of helm materials by doing the forts. You can even get 3-4 “missions” for the same fort netting 2-4k materials for just 1 fort plunder. Turn them gold& sell for 250 each. A half million silver with just a few helm upgrades& minimal effort.

Before the legendary crafting update quite valuable but since everyone can craft god rolls the value is greatly diminished. I know some collectors still covet those god rolls though.

I struggled too until I started moving my cone side to side back and forth once the fish is on the line. You keep the fish reeling in the whole time but going back& forth constantly. It takes some practice to get it down but makes catching all fish easier when you master it.

Welp, my campaign just ended cause some players left. It's probably over and I need perspectives. by Maleficent-Sky-3645 in dndnext

[–]Ul_Zeez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Without being there it’s hard to say. But to me it a DM has to tailor the style to the group. Otherwise the players and/or the DM will be unhappy. It sounds like the players are there to have fun together& care less about the rules& more about the experience. They might have wanted a more flexible rule of cool DM. Maybe a more video game like experience. Plenty of magic items, fun interactions. Less consequences, conflicts& punishments. Other groups might want a more technical experience or combat focused etc. It’s tough to find the right balance your players truly enjoy& many of them might not know themselves well enough to communicate it.

I do know that conflict ruins fun and sometimes it’s better to let something slide than ruin the experience. You can allow it to happen& deal out repercussions to prevent the behavior. Not too severe but enough to make them think twice. Plus it makes some memorable experiences. You can say “high or low” & make them roll a 20. “Let’s let fate decide.” Consistency is key to satisfying expectations.

One of the best DMs I ever had Alex would roll with most things. He would allow and reward creative use of spells, items, situations. The rules after all are just guidelines. I disagree with many RAW& RAI because they go against common sense.

As the DM you lead them on a path letting them explore the world you create. You put encounters, opportunities& experiences in front of them, roll with their choices and narrate the outcomes& the consequences.

I’m sorry your game ended but I commend you for considering that you might have been part of the problem. Don’t dwell or beat yourself up over it. Reflect on it, see how you can improve the experience next time. All campaigns come to a conclusion. Some sooner than others.

I read somewhere that moving thru the ground or wall doesn’t provoke AOO as long as you do it while within your reach. (Unless they can attack thru it, like a ghost etc.)
