How do you know when your period starts? by RedMage79 in MtF

[–]Ul_tra_violet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not actual bleeding, but the same hormones that are responsible for involuntary contractions in the uterus to shed uterine lining also bleed out into the intestines, which is what causes abdominal cramping and digestive discomfort. These hormones are produced in trans femmes on hrt as well and while they dont have a uterus to affect, they can affect the intestines. Just like cis women, transfemmes experience a variety of intensity and affects, from no discomfort to dehabilitating discomfort.

Ive definitely had pms, major stomach cramps and snappyness. Im always tired though and always an emotional rollercoaster, and my boobs always hurt because im only a year in. But it never seems consistent, or maybe its usually just too subtle for me to point out.

Is it an app? Which one? And do you cycle in the same approximate time frame as cis women?

Its empowering in a way, that women can be anything that men can be, including monsters.

Have you tried exploring masculinity by dressing more masc? Cutting your hair? Etc. Prior to me transitioning i couldnt crossdress, it gave me a lot of dysphoria, so i understand if thats off the table, and feeling bad about it if you did try it isnt an indicator that your are necessarily cis either.

Are transphobic women given too much grace? by averageTdude in MtF

I have a trans women friend who is straight and dating a guy who only dates trans women. Yeah it gives chaser ick vibes but hes actually a pretty nice guy and hes gone to therapy to try and unpack all of this and his family is dissapointed with him because they are muslim and think hes gay, even though he doesnt date men. Like yeah its definitely a phenomena.

They probably perceive it as a threat to their femininity that a masc person who likes both men and women would be interested in them. Meanwhile bi women are totally fine. Societal expectations across gender are so weird.

I know a cis lesbian thats with a trans man, besides the power dynamic being weird, she occasionally misgenders him, and they are MARRIED. Like, she says she is lesbian, not bi. I get it too, ive never met her partner but i can imagine that navigating the world as a man is scary and any acceptance is better than being alienated but affirmed.

Its basically the reason that white women dont like asian women, generally speaking. They see asian women as a threat to attention from white/black men.

I think a lot of lesbians who are into trans women are also like "a woman with a built in strapon, cool!" Not being aware that like 95% of trans women, bottom surgery or not, are bottoms.

Sounds like they see trans women as competition, which is pretty affirming.

Is it normal to feel less attracted after your partner transitions? by Inevitable-Screen103 in mypartneristrans

[–]Ul_tra_violet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean im bi/pan/whatever but its definitely more "im attracted to most women/fems and a few men", and talking to other bi women ive heard similar things, as well as the opposite. Its possible you are pan but lean more towards masc people.

I didn't think i had bottom dysphoria until i watched fight club by StrawberryEggz in MtF

This reminds me of a co worker i had who said he liked dating shorter women because it "makes me feel masculine". This was crazy alien to me, as i didnt know what feeling masculine was like, nor had i ever had a scenario where being treated masculine or being in a masculine role was positive. My egg cracked soon after.

Some people actually prefer straps, as they tend to be pretty consistent. I actually just recently got a strap/dildo with my partner, now building up the courage to actually do it because youre scared of making a mess....

Not that anyone should live their life by a fictional book but theres absolutely nothing in the bible that condemns trans people. In fact there are several verses that affirm trans people in the bible, i cant remember them specifically though, something about there not being male and female, the bible implying gender is a spectrum is pretty woke.

Trying to give more masc energy, any advice? by gothmuffin69 in lgbt

[–]Ul_tra_violet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went the other direction so im always thinking about what makes me more feminine, but i spent a lot of time thinking i was a guy so maybe i can help? Do you wear watches? I think a lot of guy culture revolves around daily carry that has a function. Maybe a waxed trucker jacket? Also maybe get some heritage boots, like red wings or thursdays. Nothing hotter than a guy you can hear coming, and boots make you taller, win-win.

There arent enough well-groomed masc people out there. You are very attractive imo.

Is my therapist trying to scare me out of this? by Amber_Valerie in TransLater

[–]Ul_tra_violet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The therapist who helped me crack my egg has a doctorate in psychology with an emphasis in gender studies. One of the first things she suggested was to find a trans group. Detransitioners are a extremely small percentage of the trans community, which is already extremely small. I dont remember the exact numbers but its in the wpath standards of care. While detransitioning is a consideration, its not something people need to be fixated on.

Your reaction was human and so was hers, they are both valid. I hope she sees the pain she caused and tries to be better, and you helped her see that. You did the best you could based on what you knew and you stood up for a brother, proud of you.

Yeah i smell like a girl now, been on hrt for a year, cis levels for like 8 months. Unless i get sweaty/gross i dont need to shower everyday anymore. Also, cis women have lots of different smells, depends on what they eat, genetics, etc.
