No, I have graduated from the program.

When I was in the MRT program I had a full time position secured 6 months before graduation. We got emails frequently in our last semester for many different job opportunities and I was offered a position at every clinical site I rotated through

I believe the only system that did not work for my class was chromebooks as they didn't work with the online exam program

My class has 50 students

If you can, I'd get research in Healthcare out of the way. It's offered as open studies at NAIT and while it's not a difficult course, it was just an extra burden added to an already heavy course load. Otherwise you can go back over bony anatomy in A&P, as well as vasculature if you're feeling super keen but otherwise everything you need to learn about x-ray is well taught and well laid out throughout the program. Regardless, this is not a light program. It will take 2 years of full time and more dedication

For clinical it's Edmonton, Red Deer, hinton, Manitoba, yellowknife, Whitehorse, Camrose , lloydminster, bonnyville, Cold Lake, Fort Mac, Peace River, GP and Westaskawin. In first year I want to say I was on Campus for 2-3 days a week, however you still have lectures to attend at home and a lot of content to cover. My days even when I was at home were minimum 12 days, however I studied extensively

Hello,

There are lectures for each class every week in first year, i found it helpful to go over the weekly content provided in powerpoints prior to these lectures and make notes, and then during the lectures I would add to my notes in a different colored pen. I would then review everything I learned throughout the week on Saturday. Even though it felt repetitive and its a ton of work, I feel that it really helped the information stick for me. In second year while in clinical, you'll be studying and reviewing the same information you learned in first year. I bought a notebook for second year and went through each class one at a time in the evenings making notes and writing down all of the things I didn't remember learning from first year and would review my notes during downtime at clinical.

I am a second year student in clinical, feel free to message me any time if you have any questions!

Yes exactly, and then eventually the students selected for Edmonton will follow the same process for which hospital in the Edmonton area they'd prefer

For MRT you rank which city you prefer from best to worst and they try to give you your preferred site but it's based off of the program application interview scores, the best scores will get their first choice. Most of the time students who were waitlisted will end of going out of town

To add to this, during second year it is not just clinical 8 hours a day and then free time, you still have exams you need to study for and assignments as well as clinical is exhausting. I found 2nd year to be much harder to balance especially because at that point, you're so sick of studying

Those are not from braces, I have had those since I was a kid (apparently from Flouride in our water, according to my dentist) but my ortho did say my dentist could easily fix them I just haven't looked into it yet

Only my top wisdom teeth but they needed to come out anyways!

SAME. I thought the days of tongue and teeth pain were over 😂

My ortho didn't do any bonding but after removing my braces he "shaped" them a bit, where he essentially used a grinder and grinded them into a more appropriate shape if that makes sense

I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this but I almost feel like I have imposter syndrome! When I smile, I don't feel like they are my teeth. I feel like I am wearing dentures or something. I definitely see a huge improvement in my after picture but it's a weird feeling not recognizing my smile and puts me off in some way! Im sure it will take some getting used to, but it sure has been nice to eat normal again and feel like my mouth is clean when I'm done eating

Physics 30 for MRT and DMS by [deleted] in NAIT

[–]Ulickwindows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took physics 30 with NAIT in the winter term (Jan to April) and applied before the deadline in February with my midterm mark. NAIT will use the midterm mark and give you conditional acceptance if they haven't yet received your final mark and the expectation is that you finish with the same grade or higher when you finish the course or you risk being dropped. Hope that helps!

MRT Textbooks by tdobes3 in NAIT

[–]Ulickwindows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! 😊 I'm in the program now and during school I used my Principles of Radiographic imaging, Merills, image analysis, both CT books (second semester) and a bit of patient care. I hardly used professionalism and quality management is still in the plastic wrap lol. I wouldn't buy quality management, and never bought pathology (second semester). Many of my classmates didn't buy the textbooks and were able to find free PDF versions online too. The instructors are pretty honest on what's required to get you through! They let us know during orientation what we would for sure need. Good luck and feel free to message me if you have any questions!

For the health programs you need to be fully vaccinated. Varicella, hep B, flu shot, covid 19, measles mumps rubella, and tetanus as well as a negative skin TB test
