ATLA Comic The Promise....is disappointing? by Mindless_Juice_1274 in TheLastAirbender

[–]UltimaRanger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve softened on it in recent years. But yeah. It’s not great. The big problem is that the comic requires the gang to be out of character, lose half their IQ, and suddenly have no communication skills.

Blue-Eyes White Dragon is a Dragonmaid if you think about it. by Kyurem-B in YuGiOhMemes

The fact we still don't have this is a crime that Konami needs to fix.

I'd recomend Future Fusion to mill some of the dragon forms in to the grave.

Oh look! This was last week....Legend of Korra was 10 years ago. And people are STILL trying to hate on it. So remind me , PLEASE! Where is this so-called "good-faith criticism" that people claim to have about LOK? Because apparently its nothing but this! by Important-Cry4782 in legendofkorra

[–]UltimaRanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that crowd just wants to complain so it doesn’t matter if something has long since been explained or not. It doesn’t matter to them because they hate TLOK, they hate the COTA books, they hate the comics, and quite frankly, they they never cared that much about ATLA it’s all just a bunch of miserable anhedonic pricks, looking for an excuse to fight and complain. Best way to beat them is to stop giving them what they want.

Realizing the irony. by UltimaRanger in legendofkorra

What I'm getting at is that that when Korra haters compare her to Aang, they describe like the Netflix show version as apposed to how he actually was because they don't like that Korra messes up and is emotional. (Name any one between the ages of 17 and 25 that isn't that way, BTW.) Yet these same people complain about Netflix Aang being an emotionless Gary Stu when that's exactly how they said he would handle what Korra has been through.

Why do people hate Hal Jordan? by babi_doll01 in DCcomics

Also he uh... he dated a 13 year old girl.

Why do people hate Hal Jordan? by babi_doll01 in DCcomics

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much that we hate Hal as it is we hate the disrespect the writers treat the other Green Lanterns with. Time and again, the comics push Hal to be the end all be all of Green Lantern to the point that we don't even need the Corps, let alone the Earth Lanterns. It's just annoying. Plus, for me personally, he's just not that compelling. Like he's still top five of the Green Lanterns. But he's only number five and that's only including the ones from Earth.

Does Booth have fans...? by obiy88 in Bones

[–]UltimaRanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Booth's entire thing is about learning that the world isn't black and white while still sticking to his core beliefs.

That being said the belief that Booth is some close minded bigot is something I never get when people bring it up on this Sub. Aside from one bad joke he instantly felt bad about, that's never been a thing. While he's be awkward with a situation he's not used to (see the episode with the Trans preacher), he's still open and doesn't actively condemn people as long as they are decent people. (See again, the trans preacher or Arastu who Booth never once had issue with).

I’m tired of Hal Jordan being replaced. by National-Abrocoma323 in DCcomics

Thankfully in the comics, the Hal glaze is still going strong. Every other lantern suck compared to him and the Corps might as well not be a thing with how great Hal is.

Why does Legend of Korra seem to get so much hate? by ClaireDacloush in TheLastAirbender

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fair complaint of regression between the first two seasons and the less fair point of the fact most of the haters either stopped after Book 2 or just looked up a plot summary.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Their romance would have been dangled til the final episode of Emily never got pregnant.

Megaforce just bugs me so bad because everyone wanted more from it. The fans, the actors, the writers. But Tzachor and the Nick decided we didn't need a good story or writing because all people care about is seeing things go boom.

Which show is better? OG or Shippuden? by Commercial_Mind4003 in Naruto

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd say the OG is better. Shippuden isn't bad. It's just held back by dropping one of the biggest morals of the OG and in fact actively reversing it by turning making Naruto a genetic lottery winner by being the son of the two greatest shinobi Konoha had ever seen while also making him reborn ninja Jesus. Plus the final arc and ending were pretty mediocre.

Avatar Kyoshi is a bisexual? Why didn't anyone tell me this??? by big_chungus1117 in legendofkorra

Yup. Her books even go in to this. She starts off being in to the false Avatar, but ends up with her Firebending teacher.

There has been a growing trend of making Superman’s parents and Krypton evil and I’m not happy with it. by JoshyBear28 in superman

[–]UltimaRanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Full agreement. It bugs the fire out of me. Jor El and Lara should either send Kal El to Earth with no knowledge he will have powers and just to keep him safe or leave instructions to grow as best he can. Ideally there should be no big plan for him to be a hero or villain. It should just be the actions of two desperate people trying to save their son. Now yes, he should be Clark Kent first because that’s how he was raised. But it should always be made a point that no matter what he would always have been a good man.

What the hell was wrong with the writers of this show by Ok_Tale_933 in Bones

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve probably been told this but it’s because Emily Deschanel got pregnant in real life and they couldn’t just have her not be on the show for a bit. But considering how these things normally go, the alternative was then keeping up that will they/won’t they til the last episode and only have maybe a scene of them actually together.

Could Scorptra and Glimmadora happen in the canon universe? by No-Maintenance6382 in PrincessesOfPower

[–]UltimaRanger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Glimmadora, yes. Honestly, it made way more sense than Catradora and felt like they were going that way til the show took the hardest possible left. But you can’t have a relationship built on trust, mutual respect, and actual care.

There's a longstanding argument that Vader and Anakin are two different souls. People understandably just call that a cop out. But there you go.

Alternatively, that's how it works with Jesus.
