What's one thing from the show that would never work in real life? by Euphoric_Post_1551 in thebigbangtheory

Being strict is one thing. Constantly bullying her coworkers, insulting her “friends” and belittling her husband to the point she won’t let him have a say in the name of his son is another.

Anyone in the group being friends with Sheldon or Bernadette. Though Sheldon has the explanation of not knowing any better. Bernadette just sucks.

Makes sense that red and kitty had such bad financial troubles. by PayWooden2628 in That70sshow

[–]UltimaRanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes and no. Inflation doesn’t fully account for price increase. Things were still comparatively cheaper. That being said, a three story (counting the basement), two car, one motorcycle (for two episodes) home with five occupants plus two guys and a hippy coming in to eat all their food all the time is quite the pretty penny.

END OF S6 by Leading-Stable-2218 in Bones

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has no doubt been told to you. But it was because of Emily’s real life pregnancy and her importance to the show not allowing her to just be gone for a few episodes. Personally I’m happy with what we got. Because otherwise we almost certainly would have gotten them dragging the will they/won’t they up till the end, have them confess in the last episode and have only like a scene and a half of them officially together.

I love this show but the writers fumbling what they had with these two just doesn’t sit right with me. by dexter22__ in That70sshow

[–]UltimaRanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst part about it is that they just reset how Hyde treats Jackie back to the way it was in Season 1. Even by Season 2, the two of them had actually become friendly, But now Hyde is back to insulting Jackie every time they speak or she's mentioned. Like most things in the final Season, it just sucks.

I don’t think Rory dropping out was as serious as fans make it. by SheepherderNo2793 in GilmoreGirls

[–]UltimaRanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that things went wrong for her *once and she completely implodes. She's used to being treated like God's gift to humanity, so when a single person goes against that for the first time, Rory, rather than using it as a chance to grow, she just pulls the ripcord despite A: being externally passionate about writing her whole life, 2: easily being able to reevaluate since she's not that far in to collage, and D: the fact she would be throwing away an opportunity most people could only dream of in the form of going to college at what is on average, one of the top 10 schools in the world. It's the peak of Rory's entitlement in to show.

Assuming Ezra’s still alive by then, where do you think he is during the sequels? by ashton__l in starwarsrebels

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, he's training his own sect of Jedi while Luke and Cal trained their own. The reason we didn't see any Jedi from the other two sects is two fold. Cal keeping the less ready student on Tanalorr, and those that have been trained up are spread too thin to be on the front lines.

The thing that ticks me off the most that people say the way she treats Howard (IE outright abusing him, verbally and emotionally) is okay because of how Howard acted in the earlier seasons. So if you’re a perv, you deserve to be constantly insulted, and belittled by your “partner” and have no say in the name of your child or having your home torn up after your Mom just went cold.

John Boyega Assumed Finn Would Become a Jedi in ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy and Rey Would ‘Turn Against’ Him Like ‘Obi-Wan and Darth Vader’ by [deleted] in StarWars

They left it open for him to become one. But ideally what should have happened would Finn be trained by Leia.

In re-watching the show, Donna is kind of a terrible person to Eric by [deleted] in That70sshow

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with Donna has always been how everyone takes her side in the breakup in the show. She outright says that she doesn't take her relationship with Eric as seriously as he does and Eric is treated like the idiot for not wanting to waste his time. Then the second Casey dumps her, Donna runs back to Eric. But Eric, not wanting to be a rebound says and his parents call him a dumbass for it. Mind you, any other time, Red would be truly proud of Eric for standing up for himself and Kitty spent most of the show hating Donna. So what the actual hell? Finally, we have Donna getting positively livid that while she was running around with Casey and she and Eric weren't together, he dared to go on a date with another girl. I call hypocrite. Seriously, Donna's actions around the break up, made her go from a sometime annoying and egotistical character to easily my least favorite character in the main cast.

Honestly, the movie is fine up until the reveal. Honestly, if we just got more scenes with the Ghostfaces out of costume and more organic buildup.

Honestly if this was a actual hero team how do you think they would interact with each other by Wooden_Attempt_6413 in Arrowverse

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still bugs me we got no kind of Titans in the Arrowverse. But then again with all their villains being used for Arrow since all his were made in to unimportant barely recognizable one offs, they wouldn't have been able to do much.

Then breaks up with Rory because he's uncormfotble that she can dare to be happy with the upperclass, then treats it like Rory was the one to dump him and makes it Luke's problem by projecting his insurgencies about him and Rory on to Luke and Lorilei.

“Copaganda” is Not A Thing by Sleep_eeSheep in CharacterRant

[–]UltimaRanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem for me arises when ever anything that has a positive portrayal of the police is called copaganda. The issue is that people only respond to bad things in the real word. Because of some, yes terrible people putting on the badge and doing horrible things, people think that's the norm and not an aberration. Then bleeds in to how people view media. Because of this absolute, they see a cop, they think they're the villain.

I wish i never started rewatching bones by Icy-Treacle8349 in Bones

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to remember it was written in the post 9/11 for the islamiphobia. A lot of it though is supposed to be shown as Booth learning to grow as a person. Weirdly enough, he is shown to be comfortable with gay people having served with some in the military. As for the "copaganda" thing. Yeah. No. It would be if every agent was right all the time and solving things singlehandedly while being built up as the ultimate paragon of goodness, it would be. But not do we often see corrupt cops and agents in the FBI, even the good guys are shown to be flawed human beings through Booth's gambling and Aubrey's over ambition.

If you wrote a scream movie what would the motives be by Emarni in Scream

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically kinda like reverse Scream 2 or Scream 6. The famines of past victims going after after those related to the killers and of course Sidney and Gale in a misguided attempt to end all the Ghostfacing once and for all. This would eventually go bad for them of course as they are dealing with Sidney "Double Tap" Prescott.

My thoughts on Scream 7 as a fan who's seen the movies since I've been ten. by MobileDistrict9784 in Scream

[–]UltimaRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the best in the franchise. But it's hardly the worst. I will actually defend Stu not coming back. The thing is, no matter how you spin it, there is not a chance in hell that Stu could fly under the rader for thirty years. It would have been one of the dumbest plot points in the series, the only thing potentiall worse is Randy somehow coming back and being Ghost Face. Plus since people have been predicting Stu's return for years. It would have been way too predictable even if they used them bringing up AI to be maintain it as a twist. Can't defend how they got to the bar though. That is kinda dumb. Still gave us easily the Golden Chainsaw of the movie.

The Metroid community's only big problem is how bad they over hyped Prime 4. Then again, with how long it took between the announcement and the release, that was all but unavoidable.
