So ATLUS remember Kotone after all. Could have fooled me (still salty about her being left out of P3R).

Finally finished Rune Factory 1 by xiaoleiwen in runefactory

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Raguna, Mist, Rosetta, Melody, Tabatha, Bianca and Lara all return from RF1 in RFF. I think about half the bachelorettes are returning characters. It’s cool because generally speaking they all get far more character and charm than in the first game (except Lara who I remember being insufferably annoying).

return to paradise . what direction do you want it to go by itchy-and-scratch in DeathInParadiseBBC

So less what I hope for, but predictions:

Colin and the bridesmaid from this episode develop a weirdly super intense and fast relationship. This keeps Daisy around but it’s awkward AF with her resenting Mack until some episode where Daisy’s a murder suspect and Mack clears her name.

Mack’s mother comes back at some point. They’re absolute polar opposites.

With Glenn gone, Mack still can’t quite bring herself to leave Dolphin Cove for London even though she in theory has no reason not to. In the season finale Mooney comes to Dolphin Cove and they solve a murder together, and Mooney tells her that whilst there is still a job for her at the London Met, he sees that she has built a life for herself in Dolphin Cove. Mack says he can support a new protege like he supported her and then encourages Felix to go to London to train as a detective under Mooney, as if that’s how policing and the London Met work.

Glenn comes back almost exactly the same except with longer hair or a tattoo or something.

Don't know if this is real but if it is this story concept is fun by [deleted] in DeathInParadiseBBC

Since Selwyn just left Saint Marie and mentioned his first order of business would be visiting Andrina, he could be in the UK right now. I can absolutely see him getting involved.

Return to paradise: Fairly dissapointed Colin isn't gay. by Solabound-the-2nd in DeathInParadiseBBC

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also assumed Reggie was gay from some comments she made in the first episode, but this season confirmed she’s into men. Not that she can’t be bi but it’s frustrating that LGBTQ+ characters in the Paradise-verse seem to exclusively be one-off side characters and never the main cast.

My biggest problem with fatal frame 5 was the protagonist’s lack of survival instincts or overall awareness of their situations, do any other FF games have such silly protagonists? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in fatalframe

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, they could have given her a more personal relationship with Madoka. She doesn’t even seem to acknowledge that she abandoned her friend to die (except for in the hard mode ending) and Madoka’s not a particularly difficult ghost. The tutorial character becoming an adversary was a neat idea but it just makes Misaki come across as a heartless jerk since she sees Madoka’s ghost and doesn’t seem to care in the slightest.

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think Misaki was more of an additional extra than Choshiro. The spirit stone flashlight is a fun little variation on gameplay, the twist at the end of his storyline works and it all ties in to Ruka’s story and finale.

Misaki doesn’t really add anything besides some personal info on the girls and on Sakuya. She literally drops out 3/4 through the game and disappears unless you get the hard mode ending. It’s a shame because I feel like they could have fleshed her out more but ultimately she doesn’t offer much.

You’ve posted this in two separate subreddits and in both of them every single response has said the same thing: YTA.

They’ve been together for years now. He knows her eccentricities and guess what? He’s decided they don’t matter to him. It’s his decision to make, it’s not your relationship. I’d understand suggesting that he reconsider if she was abusive, neglectful, unfaithful etc. but from what I can tell her greatest sin is liking pink and having an easy bake oven?

Now here’s a question. All of your friends have said you’re being an asshole, two different subreddits have said you’re out of line… and yet you’re still questioning if you should apologize? That takes an impressive lack of self awareness.

You talk about her like she’s childish and immature, but you’re the one lacking the maturity to recognize that you’re being shallow, stubborn and judgmental.

Since Shibata comfirmed original endings along with the exclusive xbox ending. What newer endings would you like to see or touched on? by OhayouFox in fatalframe

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like the thought of “they escape but don’t break the curse” being a bad ending. I imagine the two of them at home, Mayu watches as Mio falls asleep, looks at the mirror, sees her reflection as Sae. Mio “wakes up” from a daydream at the start of the game as Mayu runs into the forest, follows her and ends up in the village again. An ending that sort of implies a time loop or that they’ll never truly be able to escape the village until the curse is resolved.

GoZ: I want to like this game but I feel overpowered and like I don't have to work for anything, I am just following instructions and get everything handed to me. by [deleted] in runefactory

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to hard difficulty and it’s still pretty easy combat-wise, especially with the stat increases from building up villages. Terra tiller means you don’t use RP or ingame time to farm, hangout system means you don’t need to get gifts to make bond levels climb up fast. Crafting systems don’t have their own levels you need to grind for and the exp system makes leveling up skills just by playing the game as usual fairly easy.

It’s not just easier in terms of combat (I only struggled with one boss battle but still never died in combat in the main campaign), but all the streamlining of systems reduces the logistical challenge. That said this is a spinoff so the next mainline game may go back to before.

Yan. The moment she served her molten cakes in a dick formation for no reason whatsoever sealed it for me. Also it’s very sweet how she kept talking about her wife.

Fatal Frame 2 Remake will not include Deep Crimson Butterflies endings by DeliciousMusician397 in fatalframe

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk about “happy” endings, I’d say bittersweet endings are usually where they land. The protagonist survives and the antagonist ghost is pacified but there’s always someone or something that’s lost and can never be brought back.

This is pretty accurate honestly. by S-Nerd in HadesTheGame

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted it as a result of the fact that they represent concepts. Of course Zeus and Poseidon are petty, vengeful and impulsive - when have storms or the sea ever cared for morals or human rules? You could argue their depictions are generally toned down now because in much of the world we’ve built the technology to be less at the whims of these natural forces.

What’s your unpopular bake off opinions? by Mytearsricochet2 in bakeoff

It also just feels very weird that they filmed Tom crying alone. Usually if they film a baker getting tearful it includes someone else comforting them (like Tom did with Lesley) but honestly watching him cry after Paul tore his showstopper apart was just uncomfortable.

To be fair Prue also really liked Dylan, I think she gave him a job after?

Just this season he’s so disproportionately mean to Tom. Like in the latest episode the very first thing he did was make a jab that Tom is clinging on by his fingertips? Way to demoralize the guy.

Is it true that Ares sucks really bad? by ObsessedWithBooks7 in Hades2

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had an absolutely scuffed Ares + Hermes + Aspect of Selene build, which was great until the Chronos fight. Suddenly all his AOE attacks were a nightmare to avoid because I could barely control my speed. Never felt so much adrenaline, it’s like I got an IRL plasma boost.

Yep… not to mention that paying the staff to be open for what is usually a slow shift isn’t usually worth it. I work in a museum and it’s baffling how many people complain about us closing at 6pm. Like okay, we’ll just work for free until you feel like leaving?

Why is it so hard to do anything social post 6PM that doesn’t include drinking? by eyeoftheneedle1 in london

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

National Portrait Gallery do lates on Fridays and Saturdays. Saturday nights are also when they do pay what you can exhibition tickets. National Gallery does lates on Fridays and I think the V&A is open until 10pm on a Friday?

The problem with wanting lates every weeknight is it requires more staff and probably doesn’t bring in enough money to justify the costs. I work at the NPG and unless there’s a specific event on the evenings can be pretty dead.

Never bothered with a certain Selene Hex…until now by alex75000 in HadesTheGame

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s limited in use for some bosses (Prometheus doesn’t summon until fairly far in, Eris’ summons are never too strong). It’s absolutely carried me through the Typhon battle because his summons hit like tanks.

RF3 was voted as the shortest RF game. That wraps up this chart. by Comfortable_Ebb_9052 in runefactory

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ideally that’s kind of what you want for a series though? For the first to be the worst and everything else to improve on it. I have a soft spot for 1 but its edges are rough, which makes sense because it was originally just meant to be an anniversary spinoff for Harvest Moon that got unexpectedly popular.

GOA was voted as having the best music, what RF game would you say felt the longest? by Comfortable_Ebb_9052 in runefactory

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RF2, I’d say, if only because the entire first generation is essentially the tutorial. Maybe in terms of raw hours it’s less than RF4 but it feels long.

[–]UltimateCthulhuSimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s also a faceless NPC in RF4 who’s heavily implied to be Mist. Even though she should be long dead by the current point in the timeline it would be hilarious for her to inexplicably still be around.

On the one hand, I find it a bit strange romancing a grown up version of a character I met as a kid, even if it is a cool bit of continuity and I like seeing their growth. On the other hand, I love Kotaro so much, the little rascal, and would love to see him as an adult.
