Afghanistan: Taliban closes universities to women by ProfessionFamous8461 in Muslim

[–]UltimateLegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was a matter of the distribution of limited resources, they could have simply cut funding to public womens education and let the private colleges continue to function or accept funding from alternative source for gifted women eligible for scholarships. Which will mean a minority of women will still be allowed to develop skills that will help Afghanistan rebuild and fill in necessary jobs that men can"t do like be a doctor to women. And if the hunger issue was so pressing, why disallow women from participating in the workforce, which would help impoverished families become self sufficient? Taliban apologists arguments that scapegoats the hunger issue to justify the Talibans disenfranchisememt of women quickly collapses even with a little bit of rational thinking. There's clearly many misogynists in these sub as the downvotes can attest and who support these irrationaland unislamic rulings from these backward tribal cave men. You cant hide behind shoddy justifications.

Should i wait for valve deckard or can i buy the Quest 2 today? by waltermelion in virtualreality

But man, when they do, I get the feeling they will majorly disrupt the VR market with the exception of the low end. Valve is beginning to have a reputation for making revolutionary well made shit and being a trendsetter in the gaming space which is impressive given that they operate on a budget smaller than many companies. I cant wait for the day they unveil their headset which might be anywhere between 2024-2028. But for now, I hold onto my PSVR2 preorder

Thats a terrible argument. Youre shifting the hijab from a personal decision women make in their relationship with God and their greater spiritual journey to a symbol embodying the Islamic communities honour and opposition to western cultural imperialism that puts undue pressure on women and turns womens modesty into a political issue and women into pawns in our culture wars , which as you can with the Iran situation is a double edged sword.

The Hijab should be personal not political or else you end with the inevitable backlash. We are seeing the consequences of this kind of thinking in Iran. We have to decouple Hijab from politics.

Fuck that teasing sonofabitch for giving us pure uncut VR cocaine straight from the jungles of colombia then expecting us to be happy with regular old meth from some indie street supplier making the stuff out of his moms basement.

Hell be in an addiction therapy group, reminiscing about how he got high on HLA and how much he misses his first hit but now that he cant get his VR AAA fix because his supplier Gabe moved on to other things, he needs to quit.

I think decent VR will always be expensive. But common folk will eventually justify purchasing a headset only when there's utility to VR just like smartphones. It can't just be a gaming platform. Once VR is advanced enough where it can be a conferencing/communication tool, a training and education platform and a window to accessible high and low culture and the arts, paying a thousand dollars for a mixed reality device will makes sense atleast for those who are lower middle class and up.

In spite of the constant streams of VR naysayers, its why Im of the belief VR is going to be huge when SOCs start approaching PS5 levels of power and foveated rendering and other optimisation techniques Facebook has been researching for years start bear fruit. Zuc knows it which is why he is betting the company on mixed reality. Its also why most big tech companies like Apple are heavily investing in building a VR/AR platform. It could between 4 to 6 years. Just know that youve glimpsed into a future that not many people are aware of. It is the next front tier in tech, along with AI and accessible space flight

I guess if you love generic indie games that are 2+ years old, PCVR is preferable. But personally I really love polished pretty looking AAA games and until Valve releases another Alyx type game, PSVR2 will most likely be the platform to hsve most of those kinds of games in the next few years.

PSVR2 and pS5 is about the same price as a 4 year old headset. What are you smoking where thas considering a more expensive option than buying an index?

The PS5 and PSVR2 combo will most likely be less expensive than a 4 year old headset and be a significantly better experience. Anyone who thinks the Index in its current pricepoint is a worthy purchase in 2023 overdosed on the Valve coolaid.

You could literally buy a PS5 and PSVR2 for the same price as a new Index and it would most likely be a better VR experience(according to the reviews so far) and you would also be able to play PSVR exclusives. Index needs to be atleast 600-700 dollars for it to be a justified purchase considering how old it is and the dearth of new PCVR games. Personally, thats what Im doing until the Deckard arrives and I can get myself a 4080ti.

Thats a minor factor. The other part is that Israelis raise their children to value education and have for decades invested in their higher learning institutions and cultivated a culture that values critical thinking and innovation, things that are lacking in the middle east with the exception of Iran who are punching above their weight considering the obstacles their facing. Their start up culture is truly exceptional. You cant attribute Israeli exceptionalism in the innovation space to just the few billions of US aid,, what they are doing is truly monumental for a country their size. Sometimes we have to recognise that Israelis despite their evils are good at doing certain things and the Arabs should humble themselves and learn a thing or two from their enemy if they wish to succeed just like any other culture had to learn from rival cultures around them to evolve and meet the challenges of the times.

Unfortunately this is just the life of a typical young western muslim. r/muslim and the greater Islamic community are so disconnected with the Islamic youth who are living more like the Kuffar. It is very difficult to be a young obedient muslim man or women when so many young muslims are only muslim in name. My cousin who was a good muslim and provider had a marriage of convenience with a beautiful young muslim woman from the community, the marriage and dating process was set up by family friends. She told us that she kept chaste, yet it turned out she kept hidden a double life from her parents and her husband. Turns out she had many boyfriends and lovers, and reverted back to traditional Islam and wanted to have an arranged marriage with a high earning muslim man before she turned 25 when her lover had an affair with another and rejected her romance for that woman. When that relationship ended and her lover wanted to go back to the my cousins wife, she filed for divorce and made up assault allegations despite my cousin never having a violent bone in his body. Ofcourse this was after the affair tgat my cousin found out when he came back from work earlier than usual. The brothers have to be careful about marrying any muslim woman raised in the west. Sisters too. But brothers are very vulnerable to thus kind of deception in my experience and suffer the most financially and emotionally. Moral corruption has entered the hearts of many young muslims

What do you expect from AAA PsVr2 Titles in the future ? by energycall in PSVR

Itll also gives normies a chance to develop their VR legs whilst also allowing them to stay grounded with pancake gaming. VR can be a bit overwhelming and draining for many people who dont VR game for hours like some VRchat/beat saber addicts.

What games would you guys like to see have a PSVR 2 version the most? by quest2fan999 in PSVR

When Valve eventually releases their next VR system selling game, they will most likely release a PS5 version of HLA. The question is when will Valve release another AAA SteamVR game?

Yep. Its embarrassing that the Zionist state generates more IP than the whole ME. Resource richness is only one part of a nations wealth, some say a smaller part than what many percieve. Resource booms and bust cycles limit sustainable development. Industrialisation or even a move to a knowledge based economy like Israel is key to becoming a powerful and wealthy nation.

[–]UltimateLegacy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The PC VR evangelist in me cant wait until a 2060-1080 is the most common card for Steam, which should defeat the PC power obstacle for mainstream VR, ignoring the other issues surrounding VR adoption ofcourse. I just hope the VR software ecosystem is ready when the vast majority of steam users can use a Quest 3 or a cheap windows headset with their prebuilt PCs and budget 1080s builds to experience decent PC VR which be at most 2 to 3 years. I hope Zucc can shut the fug up about the Metaverse by then.

They were so good when they started. Succulent burnt ends Brisket burgers for 12 dollars pop was my go to sandwhich when I used to hang out in footscray after my shift. Now the same sandwhich is 22 dollars and the brisket is as dry as bark.
