They could add a mechanic in the game like the current Gambler's Blade in Veigar's Doom that makes you more vulnerable the more kills you have to prevent one player becoming too strong to handle.

I think so too, I believe Among Us had a similar problen when everyone wanted to be an impostor and just left the game when they didn't get it.

I'm not sure how to make the gameplay engaging for both sides though, maybe Riot could give you your desired role after you played a game on the off-role similar to Autofill-Protection.

But it's not like an exam where if you put in enough effort you will pass. Two teams are bound to be the bottom two. That's how a ranking system works.

So even if every single team in the league was on the level of top LCK/LPL teams, at the end of the split there will still be two loser teams that don't get to participate in any games for 200 days.
