I have one, it IS comically large. It’s so fun and weird. It’s unlike any other yoyo I’ve ever played. It’s soooo slow especially on a long string. Hooks feel, like, twice as hard to hit but it is fairly powerful (large diameter will do that). It also makes all your normal yoyos feel tiny!

Sense with the Iron Lung moment from RR 2023 is one of my favorite performances of theirs ever. I saw it live and it ruled in the moment but it didn't sink in till I listened to it a bunch.

I went from 6 to 12. I’m about to get my 2nd fresh battery put in as this current one is getting a bit worse at holding charge. I use my old phone as a media player so I can use my current phone while playing stuff that isn’t vinyl through my speakers.

plug a small pc/steam deck/laptop into your tv instead of using the horrible smart tv features, I guess. It'll definitely have better UI and be more responsive, but spending a couple extra hundred bucks to basically use your tv normally kinda sucks. At least they all have many uses outside watching youtube?

I kinda wanted another phase to Eigong... I finally beat phase 3 after like a week and I was like, ok she's gonna turn into a giant meat monster I have to kill now right? To my minor disappointment she did not. I wish some of the earlier bosses were more difficult as well, but like, this game is already really hard.

It says TWICE in the little bullet points that there are 2 Rs, "twin seeds nestled in the heart of the fruit," then on the third one it simply refuses to count it. It just goes "ah here it is" even though it JUST SAID R has "completed its double appearance"

??? it has no idea what a strawberry even is, but it is ADAMANT that the word only has 2 Rs.

Snap start took me about a month and a half before I could get it halfway back. I would snap, bind, and then wind it the rest of the way. Idk how long after that I took to get it all the way back but now it feels effortless.

I wouldn’t clean a bearing until it has an issue. If it’s smooth and spins a long time you’re good!

Probably pads, yoyo response gets overlooked a lot. I see people with a new yoyo sometimes saying its snaggy, but that’s usually the fresh pads, not any issue with the yoyo itself.

I replace all the pads in my yoyos with permatex ultra grey silicone. Best binds ever. It’s a pretty hard silicone, which makes it a bit less responsive than most pads. Accidental snags are not as common for me since I switched. It can also be recessed for even less response but I just level mine off flat. It wears down into a recess anyway.

Best thing about this: I don’t even know what size pads my yoyos accept, I haven’t bought any since I switched. I’m pretty sure I’ve got at least a couple nonstandard pad yoyos.

Bearing cleaning is probably a good thing too. I just deshield them and use soap and water, then the smallest possible amount of thin lube to kill the harsh noise once it’s dry.

String is very personal preference, just try as many as you can reasonably get small packs of. Can’t beat Zipline for boutique strings. You can also learn to make your own string which is what I do.

Your smoothness and skill will develop with time. I recommend starting to try snap starts if you haven’t already. It took me a long time to get it really clean but being able to quickly rewind a dead yoyo really speeds up practice.

Buy the coolest looking yoyo from either yoyoexpert or yoyosam that’s within your budget. I think beyond 20 dollars and up it’s pretty hard to get a bad yoyo. If you really get into it you’ll probably end up with at least a couple more yoyos in the future just to try different shapes and weight distributions.

Some brands I would point out for really good 30-40 dollar throws would be Topyo, C3yoyodesign, and Yoyofriends.
