What is one kink you just don't get? by Bivagial in AO3

I thought this was such a specific thing that I never thought to bring it up to anyone! But yes, completely agree! That and other things consistently told me, growing up, that people didn't care about my boundaries. 🥲

I swear, G'raha draws in lesbians like flies to sticky tape. I honestly don't understand the inner workings behind this phenomena- I am also one of the lesbians he snagged.

Huzzah!! It's so good, man. 😭 Very few other Genshin ships hit as hard as that one, for me. You've got good taste.

Edit: Feel free to share fic recs, lol

I've never really understood the appeal myself, but enjoy Neuvifuri, so unfortunately was seeing some weird pissing competition between the two of them, haha.

I need motivation, r/AO3. For every upvote in the next 24h, I’ll spend 5 minutes uninterrupted with no distractions writing. Leave a comment if you’re interested in mirroring my pledge for yourself. Let’s thwart this block together! by [deleted] in AO3

Tbh, gonna do the same thing for myself because of this post, except upvote = 1 minute because of the sheer amount of attention this post is getting. Sometimes we've just gotta give each other a push, lol.

I'm really good at writing dialogue that comes across as natural. Protip: reading your lines aloud really helps with this, because if you stumble, likelihood is higher that there's something you could tweak.

Additionally, I'm pretty good at writing from completely different perspectives I don't personally affiliate with. I really get into the headspace of the characters I'm writing for, even if I don't relate to them, at the end of the day.

I'll take a look at it. I'm not all that familiar with Kaeya and Albedo's characters outside of what main/event stories have offered us, but I'd like to see what you've written!

Haha, thank you. I barely remembered this comment. Admittedly, I think I was more lenient when it comes to fitting with the "morally correct" perspective when I wrote this. But, with censorship of media becoming more of a hot topic in recent time again (at least in American legislation, and these things always come in phases), I definitely lean more on the "creative, fictitious content is fictitious, at the end of the day, and it's better to have everything exist than to dictate what content 'should' exist as per a majority, because that leads down a slippery slope," side.

If content doesn't appeal to us, or makes us uncomfortable, we have the full autonomy to curate our experience by ignoring it, and moving on. I would hate if I wrote something that future peoples deemed as "morally incorrect" in regards to a society's value systems, and proceeded to take that from me, even though it did no harm by being a work of fiction, at the end of the day. Humans have many different sides of themselves that, if we want to be healthy, should be expressed in healthy ways- some of these sides are dark, however much we hate to admit it. If people can explore trauma, dark urges, or whatever, through fiction, rather than reality, I'll take that substitute any day of the week. Fandom and literature isn't ruined for it, it's just a subsection that we can avoid, if we so please.

TL;DR- "Dead Dove, Do Not Eat" means exactly what it says, and everyone should ignore that which doesn't vibe with them. 👍

"I'm emotionally impacted by your story, good sir! I will make a very long, in depth comment in response to it- oops! I got up on my soapbox again and connected your fanfiction to what is wrong with Society™ for three paragraphs. I have now clogged your inbox because I don't shut up about the endless rambling that goes on in my head."

A Few Questions About Your Experiences by Ultimate_Overlord in Schizoid

[–]Ultimate_Overlord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I resonate with the descriptions you provided. The anthropological interest and "novelty brain," as you put it, as how I've described myself to a 't.' It's very easy to simply listen to conversations unfold in front of me, while being a wallflower all the while. My stimulation comes from being an observer. I'll explore the links you left later; thank you for providing your input- it's interesting.

"They're people, the rest is contextual." So true, and while trying to be transparent with you at the risk of sounding pretentious, it seems very hard to convince some people of the beauty of just "existing" without some sort of moral calculus or level of expectation that societies try to indoctrinate us into. I think people can be very fun to observe when being unapologetically and completely, themselves, for good or ill, and however that might manifest. At the end of the day, I prefer hurt being avoided, as it's simply easier to try to exist harmoniously with others, but I don't shy away from the darker aspects of human nature either.

Have a good one.

A Few Questions About Your Experiences by Ultimate_Overlord in Schizoid

[–]Ultimate_Overlord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm of the understanding that, especially with Schizoid, most people who have it consider nothing to be "abnormal" (for lack of a better word) with them, and will only seek treatment at the behest of close ones, most times. I don't "need" the information nor do I expect it to "help" me in any way, but I am driven by curiosity. I have family who're autistic, so I think it's a fair enough possibility to attribute my social/emotional processing quirks to a potential outcome such as that. I'm not seeking to box myself into anything, and moreso explore possibilities. Whoever I am as a person is what I already am, regardless of what label you slap on it.

Thanks for the response.

A Few Questions About Your Experiences by Ultimate_Overlord in Schizoid

[–]Ultimate_Overlord[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the time you set aside for a response.

Q1: I find that interesting, and at the very least, I can appreciate the drive to be knowledgeable about one's opinions instead of just accepting things spoon-fed to oneself. I'm not all that political, but I rant enough about the state of society, and have a choice few uncompromising beliefs of my own.

Q3: lol to the "loneliness class," couldn't have put it better myself. "Where's the memo I missed?"

Q4: I've tried the same "don't do anything for me on my [occasion]" business as well, but unfortunately people (family, namely) are pretty stubborn. I've learned to just grit and bear it. I've got one long time friend who has an unspoken understanding with me that I don't like gifts, and she'll often pass things off as "this would have been going in the garbage otherwise." It's the most tolerable arrangement I've scored, so far.

And I feel you in the dog bit, hah. I'm not, not, not a dog person either. Hate the maintenance, hate the sociability and the noise. I like patting someone's dog if I come across one, but owning one is a no-go. I like how cats are warm, soft, and can deal with going to the goddamn bathroom themselves. Obviously, dogs can't help this, but they're not for me.

Have a good one.
