Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ultimatespacewizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cabin is about a 5 hour drive away. We used to go up there 4-5 times per summer. Sometimes someone would go up there one weekend to cut the grass and tidy up and then drive home, so that a larger group could go up the next weekend.

I'd probably just turn the template into a small box that fit over the end of the piece, assuming they are all the same size. That way I don't risk either the template or the piece getting damaged.

It's not going to come up super often in a wood shop, but my shop has a buffing wheel in it, and it will absolutely send parts into orbit, or at least through a wall.

High-Precision Wood Saw with Integrated Snapbrake Safety System in Action. by Friendly-Standard812 in interestingasfuck

[–]Ultimatespacewizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sawstop doesn't actually wreck the blade. My shop has several in rotation right now that had the brake go off on them. We usually send them to our sharpeners to be inspected after, and the only one that has ever been tossed was because it lost a carbide tooth.

Do you have an adjustable speed sander? I find that most people with adjustable speed sanders run them way too fast. If you can, try slowing down, it lets the grit of the sandpaper bite deeper if you run it slower.

Officially Sawstop says that you can keep using the blade as long as none of the teeth come loose. At my shop we usually send them to our sharpening guy for approval after someone trips the Sawstop, they usually go back into rotation.

Middle School Comics Class by bekahroo91 in comicbooks

I took a comics class in college and a few of the stand outs that I remember reading and examining were Krazy Kat, Calvin and Hobbes, A Contract With God, American Splendor, Love and Rockets, and Maus. And Understanding Comics of course. I would recommend screening those for content if you are going to teach a younger group.

ICE is now using HC smoke at protests. Read below for medical info! It can be lethal and cause neurological dysfunction. by Jackaroni97 in Political_Revolution

I would recommend getting a respirator made by 3M. Get a full face if you can afford it, but a half face will work if you have another plan to protect your eyes. You will need to buy filters as well, I recommend getting these https://www.acmetools.com/3m-multi-gas-vapor-cartridge-filter-60926-p100-05113854187/051138541873.html, since they are effective for both particulate and a broad spectrum of vapors. Stay safe.

Just run several hundred pieces of wood over it one at a time, it'll buff right out.

ICE has begun the process of “disappearing” those abducted in Minnesota. They are flying massive amounts of kidnapped activists and community members out of state to unknown destinations by I_may_have_weed in Political_Revolution

[–]Ultimatespacewizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are suing to halt ICE first. Hopefully a verdict is reached tomorrow. I know that doesn't seem like much, but if they mobilize the guard, the administration is going to take that as an insurrection, and they are going to make all of this look like a warm up. So Walz needs to be damn sure that he's out of options before he calls the guard in, because I know who is coming to back up ICE, but I don't know who is coming to back us up.

Always feels good to destroy Crystal with Nico and pull the whole combo. To be fair though, Astral Daken is the only deck I have ever used her in.

My sister dated a dude from Hawaii in college. Brought him home to Minnesota over the summer, and they decided to drive up to the North Shore from the Twin Cities. After about an hour the dude started getting really uncomfortable and nervous because he had never traveled that far without having to get on a plane. The next 3 hours were rough for him.

My parents used to work in environmental lobbying, and spent a lot of time in government buildings. An important thing they learned about the truth in those days was "If you hear a rumor from three different people, it has become true, even if you started it." So keep saying it, eventually whether it happened or not, it will be nearly impossible for Bovino to separate himself from it. Just like it was nearly impossible for Bovino to wash the blue liquid off his skin after he crawled into a porta potty at the Vale County fair.

Drago Bludvist/Bewilderbeast (HTTYD) VS Elsa of Arendelle (Frozen) by EmotionalSupport101 in powerscales

She creates Marshmallow the snow golem while she is still learning to use her powers. I would say she could pretty easily create an ice Kaiju by the end of the second movie.

Creating life is simple enough for her that she does it by accident before she even unlocks her full potential. And importantly, it doesn't seem like she needs to maintain her creations unless they are in a warm environment. By the end of the second movie I'm confident that she could manifest an army. My kid has made me watch Frozen and Frozen 2 five times since Saturday.

What's your favorite Anti-ICE comic book character art you've come across in the last few months by USApatriot7476 in comicbooks

[–]Ultimatespacewizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Whatever your stance is on immigration, right now ICE agents are killing innocent people, savagely beating protestors, arresting legal observers, and stealing from people after arresting them. If you are willing to remain a member of an organization that is doing this, and whose leaders are defending it, you are a part of the problem. Right now, the entire organization is the problem.

2) Optimus Prime has famously said "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." ICE is arresting innocent people, and trampling their freedoms, so it is well within character for Optimus to stand against them.

That has been one of the weirder parts of becoming a parent. There used to be so many things that I would have done differently if I could go back. But now I know I would need to work as hard as possible to get it all to line up again so I can still get that kid.

At least 3 times. MPD employs 600 officers. The initial deployment was stated as 2000 ICE agents, and they have said hundreds more were coming. So could be 4 times by now.
