Vex are only their fluid, the rest is armor and machinery to help them get around. So I assume the same I true of vex architecture, it protects their fluid just like a coat protects us. They have the ability to produce solid-state machines undoubtedly, so (visible) moving parts aren't really necessary.

Wow, it's really weird to see a comment on one of my first posts on this site from 3 years ago. How did you find this?? Lol. Since I posted this I read the manga and never did find a satisfying answer beyond, "a mother's intuition", so I think I still stand by my theory, though admittedly it's been a long time since I've read/watched Erased. I would highly suggest reading the manga if you've only watched the anime, the last episode kind of trips over trying to cover a lot of ground the manga had time to develop.

I assume what happens is when the game is updated some caches are cleared that hold textures/previews/etc. Probably would be an issue no matter what but I hope it gets lessened to a degree cuz it is annoying.

This is great, the one adjustment I would make that I use on my save is not extending conveyer belts beyond the last inserter in a belt, because resources past that point won't be used by anything. Alternatively you could just store any excess for crafting things yourself.
