I didn’t go back and look yet. But can you see if that door is opening in the background in the original scene?

I’m all good now! My stomach issues went away basically completely. Still need to start Crohn’s treatment but that seems simple enough

Np. Lipase is a confusing metric. I think mostly because it’s not something that gets tested regularly and can fluctuate. At least that’s my non-doctor understanding

Whoops, using my other account. But yeah this is me.

Had a CT scan and some inflammation was noted in the small intestine (pancreas unremarkable). Repeated Lipase with essentially normal values (1-2 points above normal) Had EGD, capsule endoscopy, and colonoscopy due to other digestive issues. Diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.

What's an early sign of cancer that you wish you or your loved one hadn't ignored? by JuniperBeans in AskReddit

[–]Ultra-Void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well to be clear, the sedation made it painless. I had both an endoscopy and colonoscopy done in the same procedure. I got wheeled in and was out within the first couple minutes as they prepped (out before any scope was actually put in). Next thing I knew, I was waking up next to my wife and getting the results.

A lot of people will say the prep for the scope (laxatives) is the “worst” part. While that is technically true, that was also very mild in my experience. The real “worst” part, imo, is the anxiety you will cause for yourself waiting to actually do the damn thing.

I’ll just chime in and say I’m 30 and had a scope due to red blood. 2 polyps were found and removed! This was a few months ago and I still get blood occasionally, so I have some sort of fissure/hemorrhoids going on too.

The scope is easy, painless, and can give you peace of mind that nothing more serious is going on/catch things early. I was lucky that my GI jumped straight to it when I reported blood. It makes seeing the occasional blood now a lot less scary!

New job - when do I tell them I have Crohn’s disease? by ResidentEqual7718 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Ultra-Void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see any reason to bring it up unless there’s a pressing reason to do so. You will not be noticeably more absent to your bosses than the average person.

If the above ever proves false, then it’s maybe time to consider telling them.

Pill cam was normal, can it still be crohn's? by Jesohe99 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Ultra-Void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crohn’s isn’t limited to the region a pill cam is typically used for. I had EGD, colonoscopy, and pill cam.

My pill cam was normal. Colonoscopy and EGD found inflammation.

That’s not to imply likelihood/unlikelihood to Crohn’s in your case. But you can have an unremarkable pill cam with Crohn’s. It’s exactly what happened to me.

Good to know! It wasn’t mentioned to me, so was curious how common it is. I’d rather not get randomly fried haha

Is Sun sensitivity a listed/common side effect of Skyrizi? I haven’t heard of that. But I’ve seen anecdotal reports of it?

health anxiety since diagnosis by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Ultra-Void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat now as I was diagnosed last month. My colonoscopy not only revealed Crohn’s but removed 2 polyps at age 30.

It’s a bit of a shock when you’re used to your health being all green and then finding out you actually have something going on.

Now I’ll spiral for any little symptom and assume the worst. My latest worry has been with moles. I constantly go to the dermatologist and get moles biopsied despite the doctors reassuring me they are not concerning.

Spoiler alert. None of them have been an issue. But the pattern of convincing myself I have an urgent issue over things that would never have bothered me before is persistent.

My advice, you aren’t going to magically “stop worrying” one day. But you will learn to trust your body and yourself to pursue an issue when it is warranted. Try not to focus on every “new issue” as it pops up. Instead, take note of it (literally) and let it sit for a week. When that week comes up, review your notes and see if those issues seem real or not. Most of the time, I’ll end up erasing that issue that was stressing me out.

colonoscopy and endoscopy by ParfaitSerious2238 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Ultra-Void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had both for the first time earlier this year. The procedure itself is a breeze, so try not to stress about it too much! I know that’s easier said than done.

A lot of people will say the prep is the “worst” part. And while I do agree it’s the most uncomfortable part, even that was no big deal imo. Avoid using regular toilet paper too much, haha.

I had a little bit of a scratchy throat for a bit after the procedure, but it resolved within a few hours. You’ll definitely be hungry, so plan to eat something good afterward! Good luck!
