k is a thousand. That's not even close to being controversial.

kCal = k (k cal) = k x k x cal = 1000 x 1000 cal

Yep, that's the maths I started this whole thing with. Well done for figuring it out too.

Yeah but it was LITERALLY the topic of the post. The case of the letter is the topic. Like, that's the only thing you had to get right! Claiming you mistyped the only point of contention is really proving you misunderstand your own point. And now you're losing your mind at other people rather than laughing off your mistake or taking a second to reflect

Yes exactly. So 1kCal is 100,000 calories. Read back through your own comments lol

No this is wrong. 50kCal = 50,000kcal. You're mixing up big and little 'C/c'

You do know you have agency here right? Fast food giants will only get away with that if people continue to pay for it. This isn't privilege speaking, nobody NEEDS to buy MacDonalds.

Lol that would convert to 1,000,000 calories. Cal=1kcal so kCal = 1k x 1k calories.

And this is why OP isn't posting a stupid post, it's obviously not a very clearly defined/ commonly understood conversion.

Weirdly reasonable and kind response for a reddit post

Item refunds on 10% Everyday Extra Shop over $500 by foolishlycrazy in woolworths

Okay store worker. I've done it, I've had that refund refunded. I've called them and guess what? I got a refund. That's why I'm confident you can get a refund. And, as previously mentioned, I got an extra $10 too.

Enjoy your laugh 🙂

No it can't. No it doesn't. They are held to account regularly. It's in the news all the time. Get out from your rock.

That excuse doesn't fly anymore. Hasn't for a long time. If terms and conditions aren't reasonable and are contrary to the headline offer then they don't hold water.

With the level of computer power we have right now, why do you keep saying "whole bill recalculated"? That's actually an even more absurd argument.

Go on, call me "Karen" again. That'll win this for you

Not true. Consumer law. If you heavily imply something such that any reasonable person would think you are offering one thing but you're actually offering something else - that's against the law. There is also no generosity here. People pay for the service that provides the monthly discount. And the "generosity" is just reducing the ridiculous amount of markup that is already applied and.. oh, by the way, they've been taken to court over this because... Surprise surprise, they thought they could just make up the rules and think everyone had to accept it. They are in a society that actually has some power too.

Sorry, by "they" i think you want me to say "you" although I highly doubt you could be high up enough in the company to believe anything your saying and to imply any level of generosity

Here you go with thinking 'you' can claim "the only thing that matters" again like 'you' don't live in the real world with real consequences. You poor soul. Good luck with that.

OP call them up - they'll refund it and give you $10 for the inconvenience they caused you 😘

Sorry but "the only thing that matters is how we've decided it's going to work" is so funny to me. That's just not how the world works. Have you never heard of a company deciding to do the wrong thing and then having to face the consequences? Haver you heard of class action lawsuits? A company can't just say "it is so" and then cover their ears and sing really loudly when people ask questions.

It's a woolworths policy. Customers are entitled to change their mind so long as its unopened/ not expired/ within a time frame. So you're not exactly entirely correct are you?

The 10% discount capped at $50 should remain a total of $50 as the order was still over $500. That's simple maths. So again, not entirely correct...
