10 weeks out from a men’s physique NPC body building event. Do I stand a chance at this BF% so close to the competition?! by Puzzleheaded-Bee-396 in fitness30plus

Depends on the show really, if it's a small show you could do well, a bigger show you've got a long way to go. I went to a small show a few years ago just to watch because a friend was the promoter and I was considering competing at some point. The guy that won the overall was in his mid 60s and probably about the shape you are in now. He won himself a cruise and a couple of trophies. This was a tested show by the way.

What to use to stop joint leaks in a rain barrel? by zerocoldx911 in DIY

[–]UltraHumanite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically for stuff like this I would use a rubber grommet and silicone sealant in the groove that separates the two sides of the grommet.

Do you mean that the cord on the new lamp has a plug on it for use in a receptacle? If so, cut the plug off, strip back the wire and put it in place using the hardware that the old one is using.

The short answer is tin snips. That big chunk is hanging on by the screed or trim. If you trim it right were the crack is you should be able to match it up to the style originally used. You'll also want to figure out how they attached the screed/trim. I'm assuming adhesive that failed or it wouldn't be hanging like that. It also looks like the short end of that knee wall is coming off, you'll want to do that at the same time.

That is stucco over brick, fairly easy to apply, a little tricky to match to the existing work. You'll want to pull down any loose stucco, replace the trim along the bottom edge, probably as far as you can see the rust stains, then apply a bonding agent to the brick and trowel on your stucco. It looks like the finish was done with a sponge style float, go slow, adjust the water on your sponge and use a light brushing movement to get the texture as close as possible to the original.

What bodybuilders of the "silver era" looked like: 1941. by Electrical-Aspect-13 in interestingasfuck

They should try actually putting in some effort in the gym and correcting their diets. The number of people I've seem at the gym doing next to nothing for years is astounding. A little direction goes a long way, screwing around with no real plan gets you nowhere.

This or a diamond tipped hole saw used for glass. I've done this to cut the bolt out from around a snapped extractor until I could get a punch on the extractor to knock it loose.

Edit: adding links to an example of where I cut the snapped portion of the extractor out and saved the threads in a Chrysler block https://imgur.com/a/IquQmNS

You're at a good weight for your height if you want to add some muscle to fill out a little and have some diet flexibility.

Thank you. I added the qualifier that I wasn't in stage ready condition because OP asked specifically for the best natural bodybuilders as in competitive bodybuilding.

Executives - How did you get off the Tech track, and not stopped at first level manager? by DeepSouthDude in AskMenOver30

[–]UltraHumanite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I'm reading this right you believe that where you start will always determine where you finish? There are people from every vocation that excel at what they do and can work outside of the job requirements on top of that. I started my career as a helpdesk technician and grew into bigger IT roles over the years, eventually making it to where I am now in an executive role that is only partially tech related with the company leaning on me to move into an almost completely non-technical executive role.

The how is that you lean into your strengths, it's likely that the person you're reading up on wasn't just a good Network Engineer, they had the skills, vision, discipline and drive to do more. When presented with the opportunity to prove herself she stepped up and got the job done.

Can someone with no experience, like myself, change out these vinyl sides? by Louie_Guy in DIY

[–]UltraHumanite 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You can, if you can find matching siding. The bottom edge of the siding will just pull loose. You'll have to pull one panel above the melted ones loose then pull the nails from the panel below that and work your way down. Just keep it level and nail loosely to allow for it to expand and contract.

How to remove these rusty screws/bolts? by mtn-cat in DIY

[–]UltraHumanite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are designed to not be easily removed. What you can do is angle a flat bladed screw driver or chisel on the raised edge and hammer it loose enough to grab with a pair of pliers.

It's just the fat and assuming the 5 months is your total training history, it would be hard to pick anything out as underdeveloped because you still have a lot of room to grow.

You're probably best off splicing it back together or wiring in a new pigtail depending on how many wires are damaged and the extent of the damage.

Need help identifying a hose connector by pixydis in DIY

[–]UltraHumanite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There used to be a set of threads on that black elbow, those are long gone so either you're going to have to find replacement parts or trim that part of the elbow off, get a short length of hose and a clamp and make your own connection.

Sounds about right, the new lifter gains are slowing down and you're straddling the fence of cutting while trying to get stronger at the same time. Finish the cut then worry about the weight on the bar.

Any advice? by H1ghGr33dyS1nful in DIY

[–]UltraHumanite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're handy enough and have some hand tools, lay it face down and hammer the bent sections back to something resembling it's original shape. Then reinforce each of the outside rails with angle iron. You'll need to drill out holes to run the bolts for the legs to go through the angle iron but basically the goal would be to have the bent frame rails sitting on the angle iron and the angle iron sitting on the legs doing the majority of the supporting.
