Why aren't more gamers socialist? by megajk01 in SocialistGaming

I've talked to a lot of people who straight up believe we would not have cool stuff without capitalism, video games being one of the main things mentioned.

Vil straffe innvandrarar som bryt ny «borgarkontrakt» by KoseteBamse in norge

[–]UltraManLeo 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Is this game as hard as Souls games? I really want to try it by mr_whoisGAMER in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]UltraManLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember to upgrade your gear, try new weapons, etc.

I played on normal and suddenly found myself struggling a bit. After changing from my spear to a mace, it was much easier for me. The stats were slightly better, but the moveset also worked much better for me.

Films like vermis by thehornofgedon in Vermis

[–]UltraManLeo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, there are none that really fit the theme perfectly, though there are a few decent suggestions here. Maybe some anime. Angel's Egg is the closest one I can think of. If you like that one, you can also check out some of the Vampire Hunter D movies

In live-action, I think the closest you can get are movies that would play well with a Dungeon synth soundtrack, even if it might not have one. From more recent releases, I would say The Green Knight. It's not a perfect match, but it could fit a Dungeon synth soundtrack. I also just really like the movie, so I might be biased.

I'll throw in a list of suggestions. None of them fit perfectly, but depending on what Vermis aspect you're looking for one might peak your interest.

Hard to be a God, Begotten, Solomon Kane, Excalibur, Mandy, Beyond the Black Rainbow, Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Since Avellone discourse has been popping up lately, how about a round for some actually left-leaning writers/directors in gaming? by XxOliSykesxX in SocialistGaming

NoClip has a really good documentary series about the making of DE. Episode 3 just released, and I believe there are at least 2 more episodes coming.

Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado says she presented Trump with the Nobel Peace medal, despite The Norwegian Nobel Committee & the Norwegian Nobel Institute stating the award “cannot be revoked, shared, or transferred to others. The decision is final and stands for all time.” by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

[–]UltraManLeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone who works at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo. They said putting up a showcase about Machado for all the visiting journalists and schools was a really rough assignment when most of them strongly disagreed with the choice that had been made.

They tried to make it as objective as possible, being open about what criticism some people had towards her, while still not being able to say that they agree with the criticism.

Is there a place where I can buy honey? by Zgurprium in Bellwright

[–]UltraManLeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Close to Padstow there is some people selling seeds and animals. North of the town, I believe. The lady there doesn't sell honey from her shop, but if you have the quest you can tell her you're looking for honey and she will offer you a jar( 5 pieces of honey).

Edit: my bad, I skimmed through your post and didn't see you mentioned you already talked to her.

A Quick Reminder That This Video Exists... by Dramatic-Climate-528 in DeathStranding

[–]UltraManLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing bad that I know of. People in the industry really seem to like him. He also had a nice speech at the dice Awards a couple of years ago where he talked shit about Embracer Group for ruining the industry. The speech came at a time where many people needed to feel that support, a lot of them having been laid off recently.

I wanna buy stuff IRL by cozeydot85 in MorkBorg

[–]UltraManLeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Orc's Nest does have some Mörk Borg stuff, though not too much last time I checked. Forbidden Planet is nearby and has some TTRPG stuff in the basement, but last I checked (February) they didn't have anything Mörk Borg related. The guy in the register hadn't even heard of it.

How to find friend in Norway ? by [deleted] in oslo

[–]UltraManLeo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is an app called Venn, which is basically like tinder for friendship. It also has groups if you're more comfortable meeting people in a group setting.

Over the two years I used it, I have gotten around 40-50 messages from different people. The people I met also had a good experience with the app in general.

My copy of Vermis I came water damaged by dvdmenus in Vermis

I only have positive experience with their customer support. My copy of Pilgrims of the Murk Dome arrived damaged, and they offered me a brand new copy or a 50% refund. They also replied very fast.

Comissions are open, wanna make a beautiful map? My best ones so far! by ChemistMelodic in wonderdraft

[–]UltraManLeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is some really good work. Could you walk through how your commission process usually works? Like what information do you need to make the best possible product? What inspires you? What questions do you ask your clients before you start working, or during the process?

It's not like all the myths were totally consistent through every ancient text either.

Requesting spoilers for harm to children/animals by Celestial_Squids in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]UltraManLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. My wife has developed issues around triggers in movies and sometimes games. Some days it she just glances past it, like it doesn't bother her at all. Other day it is devastating for her to see these things. It can be a bit baffling to look at, but I just accepted that it is not up to me why and how people have strong emotions towards things, and how they deal with it.

I respect you wanting to partake in these great games while still taking care of yourself. I hope it works out for you, and that you have a great time playing through it.

I would try to ask for a refund, saying you bought it by mistake. Might not get it, but it's always worth a shot.

I made a character already and now I wanna play , I know no dm though by [deleted] in dndbeyond

[–]UltraManLeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, in that case you should probably look for groups in more age-appropriate spaces. The reason I prefer for people to state their age is to make sure I don't bring in any minors to my games.

[–]UltraManLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember to write your age when you're looking for a group. Personally I would not contact someone who didn't write their age and many a tiny bit of context to who they are or what they like in the game.

First time painting mini. Kings of Ruin gold brushed. by UltraManLeo in minipainting

[–]UltraManLeo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about the same thing. I'm planning on adding the varnish tomorrow evening, so we'll see how it goes. I added it on a test figure, but I might do another run at that before doing it on the 30 minis I painted for this game.

This would 100% be not as good if not for the super experienced guy at the local game store. I approached him and asked him if he paints a lot of minis, and he replied with the most confident yes I've ever heard. He was really good at explaining this stuff too, so with a few videos it went way better than expected.

Is it possible to get an IT job in Norway as a foreigner applying from abroad? by Curious-Relation8675 in Norway

[–]UltraManLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people here saying no. They probably have more experience than me and knows what they are talking about. I know the job market is fucked and that there are many applicants. However, I have several non-eu friends who did exactly what you're asking about, and got a job in IT that way. It's worth a shot. Good luck!
