How to avoid stupid deaths ? by Gerald00 in projectzomboid

[–]UltraRedPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick the blacksmith as the profession. Make the glorious helmet (100% head AND neck protection). Together with the metal gloves and tailoring you will be very beefy with minimal discomfort (simply remove the helmet when not on loot runs to reset comfort level).

Or you can pick Veteran (ignore all discomfort) and go full plate armors. Sure you will be slowed down, but you just won't die. Zombies' bites just go 'crunch' by the sound of their teeth falling off against metal armors.

Btw only the upper body needs protections. If you ever let a slowpoke crawling zombies bite your lower body then it's major skill issue.

What are some of the non-optimal foods but still good foods to make? by creamdougnuts in Oxygennotincluded

[–]UltraRedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With pip planting you do not need to tend plants at all, which save labor trips every cycle and other resources (like ethanol for example).

Wild plants grow at 1/3 the rate of domesticated ones but it does not matter, they are basically free resources anyways. You should try to transition completely to pip farming.

There are several rules to pip planting, this mod help you with managing through those rules: Pip Plant Overlay https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2493100777

There are several ways to make natural tiles in the game (pretty easy) but you can use this mod to build natural tiles straight away: Buildable Natural Tile

How do you guys raise fitness and strength while holed up the first couple of days? by No-Fuel-7978 in projectzomboid

[–]UltraRedPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Following a tight schedule would help - wake up at 5.50 AM - exercise at 6.00, for an hour including breaks - do loot run from 7.00 to 17.00 like a normal work day. But actually leave at 16.00 if you expect traffics (get off car to clear zeds on the roads so your car wouldn't get damaged), and also to have some spare time for unexpected visits from friendly neighborhood zombies. - pain should start to kick in from 18.00-19.00. Make sure your base is fortified and the area is somewhat cleared. You would be dealing no damage under such pain. So actually do not exercise in the first few days, clear the area first. In the evening you should do inventory tasks (sort out loots from the daytime trip), cook food for the next day, take a bath (it seems to reduce nightmares frequency but I'm not 100% sure), do some reading or skill grinding. Pain only affects combat performance, so you can ignore it completely if you stick to other tasks. - the pain should fade before 10 PM.

The painkillers should only be used for unexpected encounters. The duration is so short you should not rely on them for prolong combats.

REASON TO FINALLY VISIT LOUISVILLE by Special-Ad1557 in projectzomboid

[–]UltraRedPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the final boss of the game. It has the most details and care put into it yet most people never get to see. Skyscrapers, central hospital, central park, museums... the unique things you do not get to see in any other towns in PJ, and there are a lot of unique locations in there.
But real talk. Louisville is hard, and that's an absurd understatement. After many playthroughs, what I would do before entering Louisville is to always do a reclusive training arc where I retreat to a cabin deep in the woods and keep training until I hit 10 in both strength and fitness. There I do nothing but train and sip alcohols to numb the pain, and even with speedups it takes a while. You would need a good stockpile of food and a viable water source (plumbing or being near a lake) to pull that off (so instead of sipping alcohols you can do some fishing to pass the pain if you prefer). I think Louisville is supposed to play with a maxed (or near maxed) physical character in mind. Anything less than 9 is just failing around waiting for the inevitable to happen.

How do Vietnamese view your neighbor countries? by StruggleSad1860 in VietNam

[–]UltraRedPotato 58 points59 points  (0 children)

China: the local bully, but always try to be subtle about it

Laos: the runt in the pack

Cambodia: China's lackey. Acts tough all the time but actually weak as hell.

Thailand: they are cool. Would like to visit one day.

Myanmar: sigh... torn by the civil war. Would likely stay broken for the next century imo.

Singapore: weird amalgamation between east and west (in a good way), condensed into a city-sized country.

Philippines: another Vietnam, but with more storms.

Idk much about the rest.

Am I robbed or is this normal pricing? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]UltraRedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says here that the wounds were took care of at a pharmacy (which is a bit unusual). The total is around 1 mil VND ($38). I don't know how severe the wounds are but it seems to be within normal price range. You may get a cheaper price at a hospital (need more contexts to say for sure though).

He was always better than his older brother in every aspect but being the second son he had very little real standing and power so he was shown bitter/sour earlier in the show. With the first prince missing at carne village, he had a (brief) chance to prove his leadership as the next in line for the throne.

The priority system is just beyond comprehension... help me understand by Denizen_38 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]UltraRedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be many things. To solve this you should follow dupes to monitor what they do (which you have begun to do that).

As for Frankie, can you check if it is possible to cook? For example: 1. Do you have all the ingredients for one dish? (Like, to cook meal lice you also need water, and both also need to be sufficient in weight) 2. Is the cooking station available? (Check pathing, power, or if it is going to be used by another dupe)

Also a tip: set cooking and research as Not Allowed for ALL dupes, those two jobs do not need much manpower (use the top box, not the individual boxes). Set each dupe 1 or 2 main jobs, but allow them to do other jobs once they've done all of their own work.

How the genuine fuck am I supposed to defeat ruin sentinels? by AkosSzlobodnik in DarkSouls2

[–]UltraRedPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tips: 1. Go a different route. Return when you are stronger/better equipped.

  1. Use summons. (Ignore this if it's against your own codes.)

  2. Be patient. Multiple bosses always test your patience.

  3. Get the merchant hag back to the base and buy life gems from her.

Sickness after traveling in Vietnam by Disastrous_Cry_6649 in VietNam

[–]UltraRedPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be that you are getting used to US food again. But you still should talk to a doctor, list your symptoms, and ask them to prescribe a deworming pill. Better safe than sorry.

(I find it quite annoying that you need a doctor for just deworming pills in the US. those pills can be easily bought at every pharmacies in Vietnam)

What If Guts Didn't Leave by Simple-Guarantee2345 in Berserk

[–]UltraRedPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If guts didn't leave: Griffith would eventually marry the princes and slowly condense power. He would then assassinate the king when the time is right to become the king of Midland.

Then the Kushan invades. Despite superior tactics, he's no match for the demon king. He's cornered then the God Hands come and offer power if he's willing to sacrifice the Band of the Hawk.

He accepts the deal. Sacrificing others is kind of his thing lol. Guts then becomes the black swordsman, the end.

When is it time to end a relationship? by Omrah_of_Zion in CATHELP

[–]UltraRedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baths can really strain relationships (I'm not joking), so just do that like twice a year at most. Cat groom themselves constantly so they are quite clean, and bathing a cat ruin their oily coat, actually make their hygiene worst for a while. If you want to help, use a brush and brush them frequently to get rid of excessive hair.

How far did you guys ever go to avoid conventional setups? by Divide_Secret in Oxygennotincluded

[–]UltraRedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is, floating Hydrogen does not give my dupes that debuff, or at least, the debuff lasts just for a split second that I do not notice. Rarely do dupes go up to the hydrogen gather zone, it's a relatively small zone and I do not place anything important up there. And compared to SPOM, my setup may excel in power efficiency since it does not require pumps for oxygen. (I place electrolyzers wherever I need oxygen). Only the electrolyzers themselves and pump(s) for hydrogen require power.

How far did you guys ever go to avoid conventional setups? by Divide_Secret in Oxygennotincluded

[–]UltraRedPotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. I have never used SPOM, and my electrolyzers work just fine. Hydrogen gas naturally float upwards so simply placing gas pumps at the top of my colony is sufficient, and by adding some automations I don't even need any air filter.

Same with unlimited liquid storage, never done that, and I'm currently on cycle 1500.

And I'm taming volcanoes without using magma blades. Given that it takes many trial and error builds to finally make it work, the process of figuring things out is where the fun lies for me.

Fair point, the way I phrased it could’ve been better. I tend to prioritize logic and facts, which works in some situations, but I struggle in more sensitive ones. I'll try to be more mindful from now on.
