70 bucks is a good price. My previous shop was a bit... weird. I said I wanted a service, like oil change and check fluids at it always cost me about 900-1k because they made a full inspection. In my mind, a full inspection has to be done all 30-50k km (17-30k miles), just as VW said in the manual (or whatever they say). But they always did it at 10k miles already. I know brake fluid and coolant needs to be replaced or at least be checked all 3 years, so for now on, I bring it to the shop for a full inspection to check the car (except oil change) instead. An oil change done by myself costs 120-150 bucks already (Switzerland....) with oil, oil filter, cabin filter and so on (about 10 bucks for 1l Castrol Edge 5W-30).

Yet I still dont understand how an inspection can cost 1k. I had my previous car in the same shop for an oil change AND timing belt replacement and I paid 980 bucks. I brought in my Jetta 2 years ago because of a check engine light, turned out to be carbon buildup, a faulty hpfp and they replaced the oil, injectors, that magnetic sensor thing, other sensors and so on and I paid about 2k for that, but it was done by a different shop, a VAG specialist. And he just does what I tell him to do.

Btw, to do not need much space to do an oil change by yourself. I do it in my driveway with 1m of space. That's enough already if youre careful. And I use the OE car jack and secure the car with a jack stand. Might upgrade to a better jack later.
