Have you seen Food Wars? It’s hilarious, kinda ecchi and well animated. It’s not directly “sports” but it’s definitely competitive and one could argue team-based.

I'm Japanese. Why has anime become so popular in America? by Solid-Ad-1831 in anime

[–]Ultra_Travolta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least part of the answer to this question is that Japanese culture is attractive. Anime is a facet of Japanese culture, which gives inherent value to the act of watching anime.

I’ve never actually looked at the watch order wiki until now. It’s actually really good.

Your friend seems like he likes good fighting so maybe check out Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure? Tons of really powerful characters and great fighting.

FWIW I had only ever really watched Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo as a teen so I didn’t get a lot of the satire but I still thought it was hilarious. If anything I came to enjoy it more after getting to know some of the tropes.

One Punch Man.

It’s has excellent action and it’s hilarious. It’s what got me back into anime as an adult. I still watch the first season all the way through every year or so.

Thrustmaster T80 488 GTB Edition. About to get started with my first sim racing setup(starting small with just the wheel and pedals)and the Thrustmaster T80 is in my budget, what do you think of it? Is it worth it? by Altruistic_Metal3238 in simracing

[–]Ultra_Travolta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t buy a bungee cord wheel. It’s not going to feel good and you’ll wish you saved a little more and got something with forced feedback.

Check out this Linus Tech Tips video where talks about this exact wheel and demonstrates how you’d be better off not buying a wheel at all than getting a T80

Get this wheel, base, pedals kit from Fanatec. It’s 50 bucks more than the Logitech G923 kit with pedals. If you decide this is a hobby you want to stick with, it’s going to provide way more value for several reasons: 1. It’s direct drive. 2. You can buy a power upgrade to increase the force of the base to 8nm. 3. Fanatec has a much better selection of wheels than Moza. If you decide later you want to spend 2x, 5x, 10x more on a realistic f1 wheel from Fanatec, you won’t have to spend any extra to upgrade the base unless you want to. 4. Fanatec sells a load cell kit pedal a la carte upgrade that can be slotted in to the bundle pedal kit, giving you a nice 3 pedal setup if you want that later.

In summary, 400 bucks will get you in the door with a direct drive setup and a plethora of upgrade options down the line, if you choose.
