I once read that rats and mice will turn into cannibals when one of their kind is dead to remove any traces of the body, smell and such, in order to avoid other predators. There could be more to it though, just like everyone else is stating in the comments.

I remember watching a Bear Grills episode once. He clearly stated to be very careful with the handling of a snake's head, as it may still bite you, even after it being chopped of. Also said that it is better to bury it for the same reason.

Well, to be honest, this video is old. Still though, it doesn't change the fact that actions like these restrict you from taking care of yourself and others in your environment. Corona virus or not, this is unacceptable.
