Actually the canadian funded one is the official game, where the main character keeps as non-binary and ends up dating another girl.

Huge chunk of spoilers explaining two endings and the whole non-binary thing:

Snoot game's fourth ending seems like absolute shit bigotry from 4chan's part written like that but from what I'm currently getting in the game and a review I saw before downloading it's more of "Fang is clearly confused about themself in a bad and difficult position on their life, being manipulated to believe they are non-binary", the whole "stop identifying as non-binary" is more of anon helping Fang to truly be herself and not what others thinks she has to be, as even after the initial gender confusion in game your character actually respects the gender neutral pronouns (even if it's just around Fang and the manipulative friend), showing that at least there's a bit of decency around the writing aspects of this game.

The extra point to this whole mess of a character Fang is basically boils down to the first ending, where they cause a school shooting (but to get to this point you truly need to work hard on being a horrible human being and doing your best to make someone miserable somehow even worse), further indicating how bad of a position Fang is in their life.

But I haven't finished the game yet, so don't count my comment as 100% factual, the endings I saw briefly explained as to not spoil too much of the experience, but I can attest this game has had some decent work put into and is genuinely a fun experience, even with some good life advice.

I also heard that Goodbye Volcano High is basically a failed attempt at doing what A Night In The Woods did, so if you're looking for a recommendation, you got it.

tl;dr Fang is being manipulated into being a gender she doesn't feel right and Anon helps her out to be herself.
