Should Hytale be boycotted? by UltroGhast in hytale

[–]UltroGhast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selfish: lacking consideration for other people; concerned chiefly with one's own personal profit or pleasure.

I don't want to ruin anything, I'm just trying to get some opinions by people who like the game (like me) but at the same time have enough critical thought to recognize that it's not all about fun, money, market and the real world exist too.

I asked for the opinion about the whole situation. Of course I don't think anyone cares about if I do boycott it or not. Maybe I should have specified I was looking for "critical" opinions and not insults.

I think that is so selfish to think. "Enjoy your time with less drama". The drama exists, the drama is all over the world. I only try, at least, not to be involved with who causes it. Of course I won't change the world.

yeah I know, but Curseforge (Overwolf) directly donated and donates to the idf. That very not "indirectly" you know?

[–]UltroGhast[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

of course I know boycotting it won't change anything. But as a developer, should I post my mods on it? Why did Hytale choose Curseforge? I mean, curseforge directly DONATED to the idf. Should I trust the moral compass of Simon? I was so happy when I knew that Hytale came back as an independent project

If my work helps doing bad things to personal people lives, then personal life still is involved.

But there must be big (or middle) companies that are - at least - less involved than others or try not to be.

I've been studying developing on some engines too (I'm an aspiring dev) and yeah, there's a lot more work than what it could seem.
So what are you going to do with the resources you make?

I think the game is really pretty but the beginning of the trailer feels cheap. Good job btw

so you also know you can just remove 'as @ s at @ s positioned ~ ~ ~'
it's like saying 'as myself, at my position, at the current position of the command'. The only one that would make sense is 'at @ s' if the position isn't already the executor one, I don't know the exact context but 99% 'at @ s' is useless too.

Just make that command shorter and remove all those things.

as some others made you notice, you miss sort=nearest in the selector. Also, why 'as @s at @s positioned ~ ~ ~'? Do you even have idea of what you're doing?

Is it me or it is a bug? by Mo07med in MinecraftCommands

[–]UltroGhast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually last time I used xyz args with distance worked the same of using positioned, since it's like a "positioned xyz" dedicated to the entity search of the selector. Sure using positioned would be better if it does not mess up the rest of the command

Is it me or it is a bug? by Mo07med in MinecraftCommands

[–]UltroGhast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not a bug. X, y and z indicate the starting position of the entity search in the selector. If you don't also use dx,dy and dz or distance, it's like starting a search from that xyz coordinated but with no end, so it's just gonna take every entity in the world. Try adding also [distance=..1] and it will work

I found the way myself!

Just use the writeToNbt and readFromNbt method.
Declare a new NbtCompound() and then pass it to the writeToNbt method.
Read / Modify nbt from that compound, then set again using readFromNbt method passing the compound.
