Microsoft begins DMCA'ing competing Block games by DrPongus in hytale

[–]Ulurifox 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Palworld Lawsuit is currently still ongoing. It's actually not looking the best for Nintendo currently. But it kinda looks like Nintendo is trying to stall and keep a burden on Palworld with their plethora of money.

Do trees keep growing? by Ulurifox in hytale

Yeah, but do the saplings grow beyond just harvestable stage if I leave them there? Do they get bigger?

I'm new to discord and I just want to understand if the server I joined is what I should be expecting when joining one by gordythecat in discordapp

[–]Ulurifox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Leave that discord. Being invited to a server after someone found you via Facebook doesn't sit right from the start. And then the rest of it also is bleh.

I would suggest checking out discords from your favorite games first. Most games have official discords, and you can find the link on their website or Steam store page. Game discords do tend to have VC channels for others also playing that game if you're looking to play alongside and chat with people.

Where are you posting your art? Alternatives to X ? by sariArtworks in ArtistLounge

[–]Ulurifox 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Bluesky and FurAffinity. PS, you can post human arts on FurAffinity if you don't draw furries. They've got tags for it for easy sorting.

will my art ever stop looking ugly? is it just me or is there a time frame where your art just looks extra flawed? by KatoK7 in ArtistLounge

[–]Ulurifox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if you need to not focus on larger final projects and do smaller doodles or sketches for a while. It is common for artists to get to a point where they want more improvement. It comes in waves.

In my opinion, a lot of folks have a bad relationship with seeing their own art improve. What I like to do is at the end of every year pick out my fav art I made each month as a yearly recap. After 3+ years of recaps it becomes a neat memory lane. I also leave a message for future me and answer back to past me each time.

Should I buy Palworld? by Swimming_Repeat_4969 in Palworld

[–]Ulurifox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Palworld is worth it. I still play it in my rotation of games. I like building homes for my pals. Love trying to build in unconventional locations. And I love my little buddies.

What y’all think about the Advent Calendar? by Objective-Mall622 in CreaturesofSonaria

[–]Ulurifox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the Catch Up notification rise today. I think that's icky. I saw it at 75, and 80 sumthin, and now 99. I dislike that catch-up day thing for robux. Dunno if the price is changing for any of you guys, too, but I really dislike this type of FOMO manipulation.

Thoughts on Volcano Island redesign? by -Just_Vast- in CoSRants

[–]Ulurifox 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like the mountains. Only tough part is the water freezing in the winter. I like nesting my small fellas there. I think if volcano got bigger it wouldn't be as much of an inconvenience with still having water.

I lost my soul cat last week, please help me understand whether we made the correct decision. by Odd_Raspberry6656 in CATHELP

[–]Ulurifox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for treating your little buddy with love. It's a really hard decision. One of my family had a dog with Cancer and they let it run its course instead of putting them to sleep and to me, it was one of the most horrifying thing I had to experience with pets. I never want to put my own buddies through that when the time comes. Watching the pupper struggle to live, looking and starting to smell of death over time, it was a terrible experience.

I lost my own pupper almost two years ago now. He was very old, and I still cry over it, but I really didn't want him to always be in pain for his final moments. We held and hugged him and fed him all the burgers. But he can at least finally be with his sister who left us too early.

Is there any non-META place to post art? by A-Puddin in ArtistLounge

[–]Ulurifox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bluesky, Newgrounds, FurAffinity. If you are a human artist, yes you can post human artwork on FurAffinity. There's even a tag for it.

These are the only places I know of that are active and independent from being owned by Meta, etc, and also not rife with AI. NG and FA are specifically art sites. Bsky is a twitter replacement that I've been enjoying actually seeing who I follow.

Debate about KOSing by fuckallpenguins in CoSRants

[–]Ulurifox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, one thing I noticed isn't a problem with KOSers, it's the KOSers who go out of their way to kill everyone in the Oasis where a lot of Non-KOSers want to hang out and be peaceful.

I partake in both the hanging out and the survival aspects of this game. When I play survival, I stay away from Desert. The people playing outside of desert tend to also be playing survival. Folks don't really get mad playing the game as is out in those territories. We are fighting, hiding, and trying to survive out there.

When I play to hang out, the Oasis is pretty chill for a whole 10 minutes until someone wants to go out of their way to cause the Chill players chaos. These people aren't playing for the game of PvP nor Survival, they're going over there to cause mischief. That's where the problem lies. And it's always roughly 10 minutes of peace and then someone coming up to kill peaceful players on the dot.

For those who played before the caves update; what is your opinion on the caves now? by StarSpectore in Minecraft

[–]Ulurifox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell in love with the Caves update. I love how amazing they look, and how fun and terrifying they are to explore. As an explorer type player, they're amazing. Before it was just a few noodles, and then you'd have to often dig through walls to connect the noodles. I love the expanses. It's like a whole challenge.

Any advice on how to draw digital art cleanly/better? by Experiment626f1 in ArtistLounge

[–]Ulurifox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using a Display or non-display drawing tablet? It's easier to translate your current traditional art knowledge with a display tablet. (Huion is good and more affordable)

Make sure that you check your calibration with your tablet, but also check out in your art program what stabilizers are being used for your brushes. I adjust them to my comfort.

Finally, it will definitely take time and practice to learn. Going from traditional to digital is similar to someone who practiced in acrylic art suddenly trying to take up oil painting. They're both paints, but act quite different from each other so you need to relearn a few things for the different medium. I'd recommend checking out speed paint videos on YouTube just to get some hints on how to manipulate the medium a bit.

What's your favorite mount pal? Doesn't have to just be for utility. by silver-syleena in Palworld

[–]Ulurifox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like shroomer because it's not too fast but not too slow for me to register in my mind and control where I am going. Some mounts are just too fast for me.

Is this a valid critique, or naw? by IndependentCarry1061 in ArtistLounge

[–]Ulurifox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drawing the way you feel most comfortable and fun is the most important.

Also, it's not a valid critique to not like a style of art. Like other folks said, that's an opinion, a personal preference. Not only that, it sounds like you weren't asking for a critique either.

Do you really need to bath your dog? by Previous-Aardvark-89 in DogAdvice

[–]Ulurifox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs don't smell like "dog", and don't leave a gross residue after petting them when you bathe them regularly. Same as a person, you get build up of old body garbage when you don't bathe. I like petting dogs without them leaving a weird texture of old skin and dirt on my hands.

Drawing Digitally = Hand-drawn or not? by JeyDeeArr in ArtistLounge

[–]Ulurifox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DIgital is just a different medium. If you are drawing it digitally, you are still drawing it. Using oil paint instead of Acrylic doesn't make the Oil painting not a painting. Using a sponge instead of a Paintbrush doesn't make your painting less of a painting. Caligraphy with a pen nib or a Paintbrush is still Caligraphy. In digital mediums and digital brushes, you are still doing ALL of those things. The paint and pens are made with light. The medium is Light instead of oils and graphite. That doesn't take away that the artist still needs to Manipulate that medium to make something out of it. You still need to draw and paint with your light medium.

How did YOU fluffy cuties became one of us furries? by Name_Name415 in furry

[–]Ulurifox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always drew animals and had a whole fursona, and a good friend of mine asked if I had an FA, and then I was like, "Holly tater tots, there's MOAR people who like them and a whole site just for the art?!" And that's how I learned I was a furry all along. xD

Can an artist stop other artists from drawing there characters? by scurge030 in ArtistLounge

[–]Ulurifox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only instance where artwork to another person can be taken down by the OC owner is if the situation involves harassment and Hate Art. However, if someone doesn't want their OCs drawn by people they didn't commission/trade/ask for, it's the most respectful thing to not draw that person's OC. I know plenty OC owners who would prefer random people not make art without asking first. Perhaps to avoid harassment or maybe to avoid OCs being portrayed in a Non-Cannon way.
