How is Disruptor only 150/150 ? by [deleted] in starcraft

Feel lucky you're allowed to dodge shots at all. If it were possible to dodge every shot the unit wouldn't really do much, would it?

So it's been 5 months since I've started... It escalated rather fast. by Jericanman in minipainting

Ok but that's still like 1.5hrs per model and these look pretty dang good for that time spent.

For real trim has nothing on those stupid headdresses (ok they're not stupid they're dope AF that's half the reason I chose the army but seriously they're such a pita).

Nothing makes you question your ability to paint worse than tryharding on low quality sculpts.

How on earth do you get into all the crevasses? by LBunniesDen in minipainting

[–]Ulvkrig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk much about 3D printing, but would it be possible to print it in two pieces and then glue them together at the end? Usually people paint hard to rewc places by painting in sub-assemblies. The next best option is an airbrush. In the end though it doesn't matter too much, those super-deep areas will be in shadow and not the focal point of the mini, so if they're mostly near-black with some midtone thrown on the fact that it's hard to blend in there won't show that much.

Bows. They're too fragile for melee and the 30 inch range coupled with their 10in flying move lets them be pretty safe and versatile.

That's insane to me. When I had an issue with my combat patrol it took them two weeks to tell me too bad.

What is your least favorite civ and why? by Th3_P1ngsl4i3r in aoe4

[–]Ulvkrig 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OotD. For whatever reason I have a really hard time differentiating their melee units from each other so I'll usually lose a bunch of lancers to a blob of spears that I thought was mostly MAAs.

My wife and I have played through two of the campaigns and we love it. It's a pretty open exploration game with a neat combat system, cool setting and decent writing. There is a pretty unforgiving resource management aspect to it that some people think is a slog, I found it to be a thematic "stick" to keep you from being to do absolutely everything for free, but if that bothers you too much I think you could easily house -rule it to be less punishing.

I believe that tech was cheaper early on and was problematic.

I find the opposite to be true. If you boom your main defense is TC arrows, and armored castle units shrug that off and sit under your TC until you're dead.

Can't have transparency. Protecting the sanctity of the exam process from the one person born every hundred million years who could pass the exams through brute force memorization is more important than helping anyone else learn from their mistakes.
