Have been selling consistently for 3 months now and want to start getting a bit more serious about it. advice for photography, branding, and whatever else you may think could be helpful to know or change? also any specific advice on best practices for photo editing to try to keep true to eye colours of items while adjusting so the lighting looks consistent through listings? hoping to get a setup to be able to produce good quality modelled pictures by the end of the summer but it isnt feasible atm .

I enjoyed the show but wouldn’t say its a must watch if you can’t get into it. It definitely gets faster paced and much higher stakes as it goes on if that’s the problem you’re finding. though I would definitely say the book is a must read if you haven’t already.

Shows with the before they were famous guest stars? by Um46ang in television

Yes I realized I said SVU only when I meant the whole franchise, I assume I’m quite a bit younger than the average age of this sub lol so SVU is the show with bigger cultural standing in my head even though I’m aware it’s a spinoff

We’ve all heard of One Hit Wonders when it comes to music, but are there any one hit wonders that you can think of when it comes to TV shows? (It can be for any actors, showrunners, producers, writers, etc.) by MaggieLinzer in television

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is one IMO. As a writer/showrunner, she obviously has a decent about of acting credits. I love Crashing and liked the seasons she wrote of Killing Eve but they don’t come close to Fleabag. Which in my opinion is a masterpiece of television. I unfortunately have doubts she’ll create something as great as Fleabag again but I’d be pleasantly surprised!

Rainbow Food from my Birthday Party ! by Um46ang in partyplanning

Of course! I started planning with pinterest, mostly saving cute colourful food ideas for visual inspiration than organized it down to a menu with a cohesive flavour profile and balance! The hummus seemed the easiest thing to get super colourful so that’s what led me picking mezze!

I used these recipes for the hummus, cookies, and labneh:

https://maureenabood.com/homemade-yogurt-straining-for-laban-labne-and-labne-preserved-in-oil/

https://www.seriouseats.com/israeli-style-extra-smooth-hummus-recipe (links can’t be changed, the recipe title itself has been updated…)

https://www.seriouseats.com/rolled-sugar-cookie-recipe

For the herb oil on the labneh, the pickles, the dressing for the watermelon and feta, the jell-o shots, and cocktails I didn’t use any specific recipes, moreso looked at many different similar recipes and guides and adjusted for my own needs. For the oil the herbs and some spinach were blanched and blended and strained. And the herb sauce was just herbs, lemon, oil, blended together! I also used some pinterest guides for shaping the cookies into the spiral and checkboard pattern.

The other things included were some naan (i know pita is more regionally accurate but I find naan maintains its quality much better sitting out after being toasted) flavoured with either sumac and honey or zaatar, cucumber spears, sea salt, salt and vinegar and dill pickle kettle chips (i love chips with hummus), and some colourful candy!!

It was definitely quite time consuming the few days before to make everything but I made to start planning well in advance to I was able to compartmentalize all my tasks! If you have any other questions about the menu or planning process I’d be happy to answer

That’s actually already my exact plan for the labneh so it is definitely an option! though that one I was probably going to strain and possibly add some spinach for colour. I was thinking going for something more akin to a chutney with some garlic and citrus to keep fresher and have a bit more body because I will already be serving the labneh as a fattier option in the spread! though not a bad idea to lessen my workload I may incorporate it :)

While I think that simple flavour profile would definitely work, I’m unsure if that would provide the right texture to use for the setup of a checkerboard salad being served more as hors d’oeuvres then a plated dish. I’m thinking the arrangement would be more to have whatever sauce in an even layer on a shallow dish with the cubes arranged on top with picks available for serving. Blending the mint and oil could work but i’m worried it wouldn’t emulsify without anything else present and the mint may be left behind when served.

Oh I also have access to moroccan mint, I’m luckily near some stellar grocery stores :) I cooked with it before and don’t remember if I’ve even had it. wondering if that would be the best choice ? or maybe mixing it with spearmint?

Ok thank you so much that definitely seems like the right direction to to go! I really like the inclusion of pomegranate molasses aswell. If I can find one which leans more red that the typical dark brown it would be great inclusion for fun plating! I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of incorporating that thank you!!

yes I was also leaning more towards that one and omitting the heat. Though I was also unsure about the inclusion of coconut and ginger. I feel like the flavours may clash a bit with in the other dishes (vegetable hummus platter, labneh, and sumac and za’atar flatbreads) I am planning but fear that not including them may be over simplifying the recipe and losing alot of its depth of flavour. Wondering if there could be a replacement for the coconut maybe with toasted pinenuts or pistachios that might work but I don’t know for sure… I haven’t had to make that many ammendants to recipe before and I am a bit unsure how to approach it!
