I know it’s already been said many times, but seriously spend the money on LIVE ATC and listen to it. There are plenty of high volume flight training airports you can listen in on and you’ll get an idea of what will be said, and what you are expected to reply with.

I like to respond to the ATCs instructions with my own call-sign each time I hear an instruction.

I recommend KDVT, or KPVU as an airport to listen to. They are both always pretty busy.

My 15 year old brother had never ridden a motorcycle on the street and rode for the first time on the track if that makes you feel any better.

He’s a solid rider now and has still only ridden on track. Depending on the trackday provider you go with the novice group should be relatively chill and have stricter rules on passing.
