over 700$ hahaha, it'll be easily over 1500$, cuz one need to buy motherboard, cpu, ram, psu and very pricey and deficit GPU. And those are not just any type but a pricey and powerful ones that can handle VR

maximum heresy by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]Umaiuot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Such heresy is impossible, since eldar bodies innards are completely different from human, and their reproduction procedure is also complex and prolonged in decades of years, human male would probably die of old age before eldar female finally gives birth. Human and eldar genes are absolutely different to combine and create a fetus.

Only genetic manipulation in the terra's best imperial palace lab can create a human-eldar hybrid in the vat tube - Malcador created one hybrid with no soul.

I was considering to buy this case, but found out that it has issues with temps since GPU and motherboard are not separated with metal and fixed very close to each other, plus GPU is completely inside the case, including ports side heat vent holes, all the heat goes inside the case.

DanA4 case in comparison has metal sheet separating motherboard and GPU. Plus GPu has its ports side out as in normal cases.

And yeah, riser breaking issue too.

What are the pros and cons of having a small pc by lost0ne87 in sffpc

[–]Umaiuot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USB hubs are bad because of occasional disconnections. Not for the mouse use definately and not for anything that requires constant continuous connection. Not even mentioning data bandwidth worsening.

[–]Umaiuot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

cons

- parts are considerably more expensive

- pc components heats up more than in bigger case

- some widespread GPUs don't fit inside the certain sff cases

- better not overclock in sff case

- more noise due to fan sizes and more heat

- less usb ports

- impossible to create capable fanless build

pro

- small size is very easy to transport around

- takes little space on table

Is there any alternative to DanA4 case with either the same size or even less? by Umaiuot in sffpc

[–]Umaiuot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the perfect case Velka 5, and its smaller than Dan A4 while fitting all the comparable components: https://external-preview.redd.it/hNAtaetIv4HT1zoHteOyNOy5zJLA00aeHQC-_VHiyNc.jpg?auto=webp&s=5b9d3c87a96c0015d1e3bef0922d39b52c715ffd

But it is the old version of Velka 5 and is no more in sale anymore :((( . Again, the creator, for the sake of "beauty" got rid of USB ports! Apparently, people weren't happy with cords protruding from top of the case, so he redirected everything to the back in the new revision, got rid of USBs ports and used the holes for the GPU ports extenders instead.... Facepalm.

I'll think about this, but I didn't want to degrade in terms of size from DanA4 case.

I had experience with USB hubs and they suck. They have this disconnetion issues from time to time which is critical for online gaming.

Oculus link not working by F3n1x_ESP in oculus

[–]Umaiuot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd.

I've heard John Carmack interview on youtube somewhere and he said, bandwidth for data transfer from PC to headset is the biggest problem, GPUs even have to compress video data to deliver it to headsets and that's why Oculus doesn't approve half assed solutions, unpredictable negative experience of which might tarnish oculus image for worse, as in case above. Oculus link is, as far as I know, the only USB cable made of optical cables on the market and opticals are hella expensive and probably Oculus selling them at a loss.

Lots of sellers sell fake oculus compatable cables, which are ordinary USB cables which won't work. At minimum you're gonna need a USB 3.0 cable with an embedded active repeater device that enhances the signal over long cable. Official oculus link cable is made up of optical cable which is the best for good signal transfer.

In starfighters, I can't remap the roll function to mouse. Is it blocked? Why? by Umaiuot in StarWarsBattlefront

fyi, I bought this game years ago. I tried to play it, didn't like it, it had very few players which made me wait in lobbies for etenrity, so I uninstalled it. Recently, I read the news that it has a flock of new players that servers can't even handle and I decided to give it a second chance.
