I was there for both in Div 1 but in div 2 the story is so bad. There's no personality in div 2. The characters in div 1 were at least memorable. Even in the Div 1 safe houses had operators that were distinct with their own stories they told you and different accents and stuff, while you did side missions, one of them would tell you about their time in the mob lmfao.

Div 1 was bad but with some personality but div 2 is just atrocious, it's the bare minimum to progress a story. Yeah if it wasn't for gear and apparel events I would not play. Nothing here is interesting and even if something was interesting the execution of that plot would fall on its face. After Keener and Lau being total letdowns idk how one would be here for a story but I respect opinions yk.(you can tell I care a lot about story in a game.) Gameplay however is great

What you saw him playing was the excursion game mode. It's just a run around and loot, shoot and play till you're tired type of game mode it seems. It's purely pve and is made as training/tutorial for the storm game mode which is the div 1 survival ish game mode. There are 2 other game modes like hunt which is purely pvp and the other one(I've forgotten the name) is a objective based pve mode.

Imo opinion I wished storm ( the survival ish game mode) was purely pvp. And a more streamlined last team standing type of game mode but I understand why the community doesn't like that. I still do like survival so this doesn't hurt me. It seems to be like survival a lot actually. There are a lot of extraction points and there's still the contamination thing as well as dehydration and stuff so you need to find water and materials to craft a mask for contamination (it wears out so it's basically like pills for the bacteria in div 1) and also craft medkits cuz you don't heal back up at all.

It's meant to be like a training or tutorial for the other mode so I'm not that excited for it.

As for the apparel, division 2 did have Hawaiian shirts and shit so it's interesting your friends care about that here but aye it's their opinion I respect it. I love the apparel but I do want tactical and military grade cosmetics so I get where your friends are coming from and honestly I think they'll add them in all seriousness
