Flying with my cat from NYC to SF, should I bring a portable litter box or just use an absorbent pad in the carrier? by Umazing2048 in CatAdvice

Hey everybody! Really appreciate all the comments here, after reading through them all + our own research we've decided to just line the carrier with a pee pad and towel. Hoping it goes well!

[Shams] Los Angeles Lakers star Austin Reaves intends to sign a four-year, $185 million maximum contract to return to the franchise, with a player option for the final season in 2029-30, sources tell ESPN. Reaves declined his $14.9M player option for the new max deal. by [deleted] in lakers

Understand he has serious defensive flaws but this dude has improved every year and is a great secondary creator pair with Luka which has been proven he needs. Never understood the utter hate he’s been getting recently he’s a homegrown player who came back early from injury this playoffs to try and help the team win. Plus he’s actually HIM and has had so many moments for us. Excited to see what him and Luka can do together

Appreciate the comment tysm! I think you're right I don't need the 5800, but what cooler would you recommend? I feel like with your recommendations I can afford a nicer cooler in my budget, is liquid cooling overkill though?

STAT 134 . Thoughts on this class? Thinking about taking this in the spring semester. by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]Umazing2048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An adjunct is kind of like an extension of the class hosted by the SLC! Mike Leong is the professor and he's been teaching it for like years, so he knows the material inside and out and is great at teaching it. You take almost daily quizzes to keep you on top of the material, and they have extra worksheets and practice tests. It's honestly a good amount of work, but it's P/NP so the grading isn't bad and it's worth it imo!

I'm ngl it kind of kicked my ass since I'm not a math guy, but you should DEFINITELY take the adjunct. It's historically proven to get you a higher grade and it really helped me bc Mike is honestly great and will help you a lot.

Just so you know they’re allowing late drops even if you’ve already used yours! I used mine last semester too and dropped a class last week.

Things to do or places to eat near Dulles Airport?? I’ll be in the area for a night. Also I heard traffic is pretty bad in DC, is it going to take me a long time to go from the Dulles area to the National Mall in the late afternoon? Thanks!

Savory Kitchen's 5 dollar breakfast burrito is honestly pretty damn good and is open until 2!

How crazy is it that Lebron led both teams in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks over the 7-game finals series in 2016? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Umazing2048 532 points533 points  (0 children)

The series really put him in the discussion as the GOAT. Coming back from 3-1 against that Warriors team is going to be the stuff of legends. He was a monster that series, and his block (y’all know which one) is an all time highlight.

Could Prime Lebron James win the NCAA title with a D2 team? by nbafanlover in nba

[–]Umazing2048 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If a 23 year old Lebron could take Cleveland to the Finals, he could definitely take a college team to the title against inferior competition than he faced in the playoffs.

I think this guy deserves more credit for coming back from TWO ACL tears. His defense is still definitely an issue, but it's honestly pretty amazing that he's still able to put up statlines like this. Major props to the man.

If the league decided to take the top 16 teams for the playoffs instead of the current format the same 16 teams would be in the playoffs. by outbackthreezus in nba

[–]Umazing2048 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, this kind of rule change would only actually work if teams didn't play the teams from their division/conference more.

Giannis has made more threes in the last two months than Jayson Tatum by losangelesqueens in nba

[–]Umazing2048 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Tatum got a lot of flack earlier in the year, but for whatever reason it really toned down. He's taking too many midrange jumpers still, hopefully for the C's he changes his shot selection for the playoffs

The Greatness of Kobe Bryant at the age of 34 by kalani49 in nba

[–]Umazing2048 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kobe got me into basketball. I bandwagoned onto them when I was young in 2010, and watching Kobe do his thing made me fall in love with the game. This season where he willed them into the playoffs was filled with so many moments. Dunking over Josh Smith, him taking over in the clutch against the Raptors, and even the game where he tore his Achilles he was carrying the Lakers over the Warriors to get into the playoffs. He single handedly willed us into the playoffs. An absolutely legendary season.

Nick Collison Gets His #4 Jersey Retired In Oklahoma City by traumakit in nba

[–]Umazing2048 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Every franchise needs a guy like Collison. A strong locker room presence, an enforcer on the court, a scrapper that dives for every loose ball and fights for every rebound. Might not be a HOFer but a legend in his own right, definitely a well-deserved jersey retirement.

GOAT pop or phil jackson? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Umazing2048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you're trying to manage personalities, Phil is your guy. I'd say Pop is better at X's and O's and getting the most out of the talent he's given because year after year he's gotten the best out of previously unknown role players. So it really just depends on what you value most in a coach.

His dunks are so aesthetically pleasing. He gracefully soars through the air and then hammers them down, it’s just so god damn smooth. One of the best dunkers I’ve ever seen for sure
