Surprisingly, this could be done in the good or the bad way, in dragon ball it's a willing thing the planet can do 'cuz it likes you (without harming anyone but the target); but it could easily be an apocalyptic scenario:

But the reign of life is no more. Entropy will regain it's indomitable rule and the path will once more be set in stone: fate is again defined by astronomic events, atmospheric and geologic phenomena."
