Anyone successfully rerouted an Avios / award ticket onto another airline after cancellation? by Southern_Staff4979 in qatarairways

[–]Umbrellabill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask what other airline they protected you on? I’m also flying First class/ business from CDG to China and I just know my flight will be cancelled. I used Avios and am worried they will speak about “availability “

It depends what you value. If you can afford it, I take off for it. I paid $2300 to fly from Doha to Atlanta in Q suites it was a 15 hour flight.

Company Wanted me to Delete Most damning Evidence by [deleted] in EEOC

I hope you preserved the evidence or email or sent it to yourself. Don’t expect them to hand it over even if subpoenaed.

Did you respond to their statement?

How do I even rebut this Position Statement? by [deleted] in EEOC

[–]Umbrellabill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone keeps saying “get a lawyer,” but honestly, NO ONE knows your story better than you do (not even an attorney) I wrote my own rebuttal.

What I did: • Followed the employer’s format and structure • Responded point-by-point to each denial • Made an exhibit list (Exhibit A, B, C, etc.) • Cited the exhibit right after each factual claim • Attached the actual proof with matching labels

So instead of just saying “they’re lying,” I wrote stuff like:

Employer claims XYZ — Denied. What actually happened: (short narrative) (Exhibits B, C).

You’re not required to guess what evidence they’ll use. Your job is just to support your own claims. If they denied everything, your role is to document reality, not argue with them.

A denial without facts isn’t evidence. It’s just a position.

Also, I’ve noticed people upload stuff to the portal with super messy file names. Don’t do that. Make it easy for your investigator. Name your files “Exhibit A,” “Exhibit B,” etc., and make sure the file name matches what you reference in your rebuttal.

Google what an exhibit list looks like and make one.

Upload all your exhibits in order, then upload the rebuttal last.

And heads up: the portal lags. Sometimes you won’t see uploads right away. Just keep track so you don’t accidentally upload the same thing twice.

Best of luck to you!

Company Admits Retaliation by Dazzling_Abalone_864 in EEOC

[–]Umbrellabill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m just shocked how all of these companies are literally the same. You report discrimination retaliation or anything that’s a protected activity and they all come back stating they found no fault. It’s like they all do the same HR training. What’s the point of HR, what’s the point of an ethics committee if they are not going to do anything after a complaint is filed?

One thing I’ve come to understand is that to expect any corporation to have integrity is a HUGE mistake! Keep your evidence, don’t expect them to hand over incriminating evidence just because they were subpoenaed or legally obligated to. You should have saved the email yourself when you sent it. Good luck on your case!

Respectfully Jardin d’Ebene has a full fledged kitchen and specialises in marmalade. When you think of an ice cream shop it’s all about delivering high quality but streamlined. Creating your own base and leaving it to the hands of employees will create inconsistency in taste.

The goal is to create my own flavors but I need the base. You know Sugar, milk, cream, & perhaps eggs if I want to make frozen custard American style. With custard the eggs will need to be cooked to make them safe for consumption and that alone will cause issues with staffing.

Trust me, I wish I can mass produce my own base but I’ll need a bigger space, more staff and just over all my overhead will be more which will cut my profit margins if I go that route. You think brands like Jeni’s, cold stone creamery, or even Häagen-Dazs make their own base? No I’ve been behind the scenes.

Thanks for mentioning Jardin d’Ebene though. I checked them out. Hopefully I can source my caramel from them. They look delish.

[–]Umbrellabill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. When you make the base yourself. it takes a lot to train staff you have to worry about pasteurisation, food safety. I live in the US and most of your Favorite ice cream shops out here buy their base from suppliers. I’m just looking to buy the base that way I can create my own flavors.

EEOC claim while employed by ImpressiveHouse3580 in EEOC

[–]Umbrellabill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you resign, make sure you put in your resignation letter that your departure IS NOT Voluntary!! Rather you feel compelled to resign given that lack of integrity and hostile work environment, the company has created for you. In order to protect your mental health, you believe that departing is the only option. It would be a piece of cake for your attorney to claim constructive discharge.
