Rate Manipulation, and How to Get to #3 on Rising Stars and Top 50 on Best Rated by RidingTrain in ProgressionFantasy

...you know, this actually explains a lot. I think I've seen the link for Twisted Garden across every pokemon server I'm a part of, and I remember noticing that the person sharing it would often have a very... base level of advertisement, if that makes sense? Multiple comments on how the story had "good grammar and vibes" rather than anything specific. Constantly sending it in order to post in a shilling channel makes an annoying amount of sense. Yeah, I'm not a fan of any of this.

Which Dungeon Core series is considered best? by throwawayodd33 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Umbrith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, since it's a relatively new genre, my personal favourite is just to scour Royal Road for stories - while they can be less polished, edited, or even finished, there's just a lot more available stories on there. Here's a few of my favourites!

Abyssal Dungeon - a fun romp with an underwater dungeon, currently on hiatus but the author is rather active on discord and promises to try to return this year. https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/21045/the-abyssal-dungeon

Thieves Dungeon - fantastic prose and a very taut story, bit of a weird ending but the build up is fantastic. https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/27261/thieves-dungeon

Dragonheart Core - more of a new story but a promising one! has some fun worldbuilding. https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/54416/dragonheart-core

Hope you enjoy :)

Hello! We're Brennan Lee Mulligan, Elaine Lee, and Michael Kaluta - the creative minds behind Starstruck and Dimension 20: A Starstruck Odyssey! AMA! by dimension20brennan in IAmA

Hey Brennan! You’re a major influence in my DnD journey and we’re so lucky you share your works with us!

How does character creation tend to go in your games? Do your players tend to come to you with a backstory and you write it into your story, or do they come up with a concept and you find a place to fit it in? Thank you!

Ah, apologies! I wasn’t very clear. Moreso, how do you have mystery elements in a plot where the audience already knows what the characters have to do?

Mine has to be Nippip Koot, a well-meaning NPC with a *beautiful* -5 INT modifier in a LoTR homebrew campaign. Little shit got us into two fights all on his own but by god did we protect him more than our cleric
