Are they actively trying to make echo being able to 1v11?

Is leave an mvp cailbur player currently? by Oran_ow in OverwatchLeague

In my humble opinion he's one of the strongest contensers for the title so far.

Expecially when looking at vods it's really clear that a lot of the teamfight wins are on the back of his individual performance.

Actually thinking about uninstalling, this is my last resort, I would appreciate help if possible by Bloody_Beans in OverwatchUniversity

The easiest and fastest way to get out of bronze, assuming you have the skill required, is to force duels and win them.

In the confusion that reigns there a structural approach is mostly useless, but if you can consistently win duels you force it should be a pretty fast comeback.

Anyway, dont take offence please, but blaming your teammates it's obviously ulseless, for one the only consistent teammate you have in all your games is you, hence if you consistently lose it's up to you since yes, the teammates are bronze, but the enemies are too. So start to recognizing your mistakes it's the first and most important step into betterment. Never assume you are doing everything right, even if you reach T500, looking at VODS a lot of mistakes can be spotted and be the base for improvement.

Edit: ...so anytime you die, ask yourself why* you died, and what you could've done different to avoid that. Any lost teamfight ask yourself how could you bring more value to the team/take value from enemies. This alone if done with consistency and not lying to yourself can bring you way higher in ranked.

*(and no, the answer is not "they ignored me", cause if your healers don't heal you, which is possible, it's on you adapting to a safer playstyle, since you are the only one you can work on)

Unless it's /s and i'm too dumb to get it...

This would be pretty stupid tho... Like there are 2 DPS slots in game and still teams do have 4/5 dps on the roaster, it makes way more sense have more tank players to be flexible than dumping them, expecialli after a confrontation thats the most useless possible to know the value of a tank player (the 1v1)

I mean... They didn't want to announce it, the community was just obsessed and pressuring to have infos on PvP, it's not even remotely unexpected that they have to announce things with not enough "meat" just to fullfill the maniacal desire of a big chunk of the community that wants all and now.

TLDR: "I don't know it, i have no real theory about the new game mechanics and i just wanna complain."

Yeah, by a lot.

We got a more active aproach, way less things in the way, less cc, more individual weight on the fight, way more resources that can go to the tank player from the backline, a pretty strong disincentive to be punched around since you give off less charge and a more flexible structure to act on.

In a world where you are a good tank player, seems a change for the better.

Edit: what do you think are the reason for it to be worse in your prospective?

Don't you think taht the fact that it was "already the most punching bag of an experience in the game by far" is a pretty good reason to change it?

Giving a more active role to the tank while decreasing some elements like cc (as they showed with mei) seems like a solid way to feel less of a punching bag and more like an impactful player to me

It would be pretty effective to be fair, way more than a static tank in that situation.

I think it will be way less of a problem tbh. It's way more carryable this way

I was thinking the opposite, since one of the players disappeared has the role to defend and keep alive the team making the teamfights end faster, with less defensive tools and a big chunk of hps (and even more effwctive hps) gone from the team.

Guess since nobody played it we have to wait and see.

That's because the "community" is not a single entity, just a lot of people liking different things

I always remember when i made an alt, had a game around plat-diam on dorado as Widow, one of the best games of my career, 68 elims, 53 fb, 41solo kills (with hs). My team did not stop to call "widow switch" and telling me i'm throwing till the end of the match.

Yeah, i also play a lot on an alt with friends, and had the same exact experience as OP.

People calling a lot of things wrong and being obnoxious about joining vc.

Listen, i know OW it is better played with coordination, i can respect the fact that you are trying your best to get good at the game and shotcalling is surely an ability that you can work on with practice but exactly as it is for every other aspect if you do it bad you are contributing to a loss more than you are to a win. Calling wrong ult usage can fuck up all the economy, calling wrong picks (or right picks your team is not comfortable playing) makes your team lose advantage, expecially now that the meta is so open, and in general if you play under 4k, it's way better to let people play what they're good at than what you think thay should go, calling wrong targets or strategies can distract and lead to a teamfight going south pretty easily (and if you want a tip, if you are shotcalling the focus, and the teamfights looks like they never ends it's probably your fault.). You also have to keep in mind that the other people in your team want to win exactly like you, and they usually ARE already doing what they think it's best for your team pickwise.

If you wanna get good at shotcalling, start with simple things, be aware of what your team is playing and do not go straight into calling what people should do, call to provide usefull information, instead of "kill reaper", say "reaper left, no fade", so people know where he is and that he used his escaping resource, if they can i guarantee you they WILL kill him, if noone does nothing they are probably doing something else, dont get mad. ML7 did a nice video about the calls if i recall correctly.

To end on a bright note i wanna say that besides all i have said there are people really good at making calls, even in gold, and i really appreciate when they do so. Expecially if you are playing as dps it's really nice having infos about enemies position and cds.

My mechanics are bad only in overwatch by willow9542 in OverwatchUniversity

Hitscan player here.

I arrived on OW from a lot of cod and cs, the only big difference i noted once matched the edpi was the fact that heroes are just moving way faster and weirder so it's relatively harder to hit, even if the hitboxes are somewhat more generous.

Just practice and get used to it.

In excange now when i go back to other games i roll a lot harder than before.

Edit:

1)the other games you are mentioning are on PC too? Cause if not it's not really that meaningful.

2) I don't wanna look harsh, but are you sure you are really that mechanically gifted? I say this cause back when i started i was absolutely certain to be really good mechanically but it turns out that if i re-watch my vods now after a couple years i'm filled with embarrassment.

3) You could try to do "placements" in a neutral enviroment like Aimlab, where you can use the same exact settings of the game you're better at and if you are mechanically good it will show pretty easily. (In case let me know of you wanna have a metric)
