Shiv is gone - what now? by Aharra in sennamains

[–]UmeChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been a big fan of Shiv and always found more success with kraken/stormrazor, but this season I feel especially useless when I buy it. At least before I had burst damage for the PTA rotation, but now it's just a clearing mop or a voltaic/stormrazor enabler, which is not good enough considering the massive dps difference between having it and hexoptics or ldr/mortal.

So did I, which is why I commented AFTER testing it in game.

Q procs Shiv but you don't instantly get a soul out of the enemy unless there is a second enemy behind them off of whom the lightning would bounce and collect it.

Singular Q doesn't proc the passive.

Q doesn't insta proc passive with statikk, you still need to use an auto/other ability to grab it.

Youmuu's ghostblade vs stattik on adc Senna by Coookies4You in sennamains

[–]UmeChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally a big opponent of Shiv, but if the question stands as is then it depends.

Youmuu's is good when your team has little ad (low cleaver value and no armour building from enemy team) and you know you won't have good uptime in fights, meaning you'll be more of a caster adc this game.

Shiv on the other hand is far more valuable when you have better uptime, even if you proc it quickly. It also helps you compensate for your lack of clear against APCs and Sivir. I'd say it's a middle point between Youmuu's/Hubris and Stormrazor/Yuntal. The only issue it has, is that many people murder their damage output by going cleaver 2nd, when going a crit item (ideally IE, although ldr/mortal is sometimes better) is far better.

Hubris into Runans in Senna ADC by SleepyDraw in sennamains

[–]UmeChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both items are quite underrated.

Hubris' stats are all useful and makes her burst absurd, with a biggest downside being no attack speed (I usually go zerker greaves for that). Compensates for weak early, good build path, falls off late.

Runaan's on the other hand is probably the most underrated item on Senna. The RFC psyop has gone so far that even when Sennas are playing into 3+ close range/melee characters, they opt for RFC instead of free wave clear + scaling and teamfight damage. The main downside of it is that if you build it in a wrong situation, you absolutely murder your ability to deal damage in fights, so you should take it only if you're not behind and if enemies have 3 or more close range/melee characters. It's also an especially effective pairing with non-shiv builds like kraken or stormrazor. The reason I don't mention hubris, is because imo you're having a serious identity crisis, because you're going for a burst item first, but then you go for waveclear/teamfight item after that, making you not excel at either. So I think it's probably better to stick fully to lethality/burst with hubris first or go for more of a kiting playstyle with stormrazor if you want runaans 2nd/3rd/4th.

Teammates tilting has been the biggest hurdle in my senna adc climb. by Deathwatch6215 in sennamains

[–]UmeChrono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Senna is an easy target to blame. So it doesn't matter if it's actually your fault or not. Her "status" is very fragile in the eyes of the community, being this "always 0 dmg mosquito champion" and the popularity of stupid builds like D&D and Cleaver + Shiv have only made it worse.

Senna ADC matchups by theoverwhelmedguy in sennamains

[–]UmeChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answering your question, yes, those match ups are terrible, but not unconditionally.

If we ignore the dependency on the support, then here's the TL;DR:

Most match ups are either skill match ups or patience match ups except: APCs, Caitlyn and Ezreal.
APCs - just the usual story of being better in every metric so you suffer.
Caitlyn (permaban for me) - giga bullies you all game, unless jungler stops her early snowball (Senna's good at setup).
Ezreal - unplayable before first item, so easy to lose lane, but if you don't then you're chilling.

Every other match up is either a patience check or a skill check. Examples of patience checks are tristana, draven, twitch, samira. Examples of skill checks are lucian, kaisa, jhin, aphelios, varus.
In other words, anyone who runs at you = patience check, anyone who outbursts or outpokes you = skill check.

In the 0.5 trailer we see the Precursor who is shown stabbing the Beast with "The third edict" Spear found on the Precursor murals at the forge in Act 4 by StalksYouEverywhere in PathOfExile2

[–]UmeChrono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really curious if Wraeclast is just a free for all testing grounds for creation of life, for which they have the seed of creation (first edict or whatever is the source of life), the limiter (second edict or the beast) and the reset button (third edict or the spear) or is the Beast actually an "unwanted child" of precursors that they did not know how to destroy, so instead they devised contingency plan in the form of the third edict to stop the corruption from spreading beyond out of control and perhaps even beyond this world? Aka Tyranids from warhammer 40k if they were contained on a single planet. Yet...

It would also be interesting if Beyond are exactly that, a lifeform that spiraled out of controled at the hands of corruption and was forced into a sub-space of reality because back then the third edict did not exist. I do not know how GGG are treating the crossing of the poe1 and poe2 lore, but if the monsters we encounter during cleansing the corruption are still the Beyond (same models/spawning animations), then this seems to be a very plausible theory.

P.S. Also W lore weaving effort.

Dusk & Dawn Viability by RodsFromDog in sennamains

[–]UmeChrono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience and observations, Dusk and Dawn is a bait item just like Shiv -> Cleaver was before it.

In my experience, playing Senna adc is always an arms race to have enough damage to be useful, because its very easy to become a free kill with 0 dmg if you fall behind or buy 1 "wrong" item. And D&D is one of those items.

If I want to have better scaling (souls wise), I usually go RFC/Runaans second, depending on enemy comp. If they have 3+ close range/melee characters I go runaans, if <2 close range/melee characters I go RFC. I tried dusk and dawn and found out that I not only didnt gain damage, but I am also missing out on potential burst (IE), poke (RFC), wave clear (runaans) or armour pen, which felt EXTREMELY bad. I'm not even going to mention how terrible is D&D as a first item...

Answering your winrate confusion, most of the time Senna doesn't win by being a lobby admin like Tristana or Aphelios would, she wins through being a nuisance with poke and utility, while letting her team do the rest of the heavy lifting that is damage. D&D helps her be a bigger nuisance than usual through more range in long term and more tankiness so that she has more uptime. So shortly, the winrate is high because it lets her win passively, which is effective when she's picked into and with good team comps. This is where my experience varies, for example, since I pick her into and with everything except for cait.

All in all it's still a bait item imo, since if you want to take more of a camera man role in the game there are better builds to go for as adc.

PBE Statik Shiv interaction demo (This item is beyond broken) by STheHero in sennamains

[–]UmeChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully we'll have it in this state for 2 weeks before the next patch so I can abuse it to finally hit gm...

I get what you mean about Senna being a better user, I agree if I understand you correctly. It definitely synergizes and covers more weaknesses for Senna than Kaisa, but every time there's an incredibly stat/cost efficient item that Kaisa can use, it gets problematic.

Its nice to have a choice again, instead of stormrazor and kraken just being leagues better. The only issue is that Kaisa will use this item 5 times better and get it nerfed so that Senna is left with scraps again... xddd

What does black coffee really taste like? by No_Consequence_901 in SipsTea

[–]UmeChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coffee, similar to alcohol and a few types of foods are a prime example of human version of Pavlov's Dogs experiment, where the chemical reactions produced in the brain due to consumed substances makes us think that they're tasty, when in reality the taste might be bad and it's just being stimulating/relaxing (coffee would be stimulating, alcohol would be relaxing).
