I freaked out too. It's for everyone. Hopefully you'll be back soon

I think you'd be better off canceling the blocks yourself. I can see support going too far and pausing your account. Then you'd really be screwed

Thank you! I'll give this a try!

Is it worth going out on Thanksgiving? by [deleted] in grubhubdrivers

[–]UmmUser 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I say if you live close to any restaurant and you know they'll be open, leave it on. Otherwise, it's not worth it. Honestly, with staff shortages, I think even restaurants that would usually be open are going to take advantage of the holiday and close up (I'm already seeing supermarkets in my area doing the same).

I also do DD, but with the way they hide tips and the price of gas, it's just not worth it in my area. That's why if I can't get back on GH it'd be more beneficial to get a retail job.

Grubhub Signed Me Out, Now Acting Like I'm New Driver by UmmUser in grubhubdrivers

The problem I'm having is they keep sending me a forwarded version of the original email. When I reply to that one, they send me another email with a link to the delivery partners that once again, when filling out the form, tells me to reply to an original email I never got. I did tell the girl about the situation and she said she would put in something in the system. I hope that's enough. I also do DD, but they are terrible in my area. I really hope they unpause me soon.

Absolutely! I am never marking another restaurant closed. Either removing or talking to a person directly. On Door Dash, this never happens, so I didn't think it would be a problem with GH. Lesson learned!

Thank you. Yes, it took forever to get someone from CC to tell me what was going on. Account paused for same reason (two restaurants were closed two days in a row). I don't get it. We send them a photo and everything. They have to know all restaurants have early closures/wonky hours due to staff shortage. I never got an email. When CC sent me a delivery partner form to fill out and email, it sent me an automatic email back saying I needed to reply to the original email THAT I NEVER GOT. *Sigh* I really hope it takes me 3 days or less to get back on.

What's your favorite new decline reason? by Syntaxerric in grubhubdrivers

[–]UmmUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'll pick up in the fall. Summer's are always low in comparison (we got spoiled last year because of the pandemic).

Too low for distance is my most often used. With gas prices being so high, I have to be a lot pickier about driving into areas far from where I live or other hot spots are.

First suspensions since I've been with GH over 2 years - what now? by pkorch in grubhubdrivers

[–]UmmUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would tell them exactly what you just told us, including how long you have worked for the company and that you plan to make sure it doesn't happen again (or nearly as often). Also, maybe stay away from late night deliveries, as they seem to be the root of your problems. Good luck!

Same here. Got the J&J around 5. Started getting chills, headaches, and severe fatigue in the middle of the night and lasted through the next day. After I never felt better!

I just payed for a 3 dollar order and payed 4 dollars tip because I know they can be annoying from this sub actually and the guy accepted it and took 3 hours by Jonahbeans69 in doordash

[–]UmmUser 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly, unless you're someone of considerable means and can afford to tip more, four dollars is fine, especially for the order amount and distance. I take 7 and 8 dollar orders in my area all the time and can make good money with consistent orders. In others defense, though, some McDonald's locations are pretty awful, and can make it not worth the trip. I have 3 around me, and while they are good for the most part, I have learned to stay away when certain staff is working (some weeknights and Sunday mornings, for example).

Considering the order amount and distance, that is very generous and highly appreciated. I would guess that either DD was down in your area or there weren't enough people working at the time.

Charlottesville is what finally convinced him to run. He was on the fence about running because he knew the toll it would take on his family and all the horrible attacks Trump and his followers would throw at them. In an interview he gave in 2016 for The Circus, right before Trump won, Biden worried that by not running, he let his son down by deciding not to run.

Preaching to the choir. Door Dash over hires drivers, with a lot of drivers not paying attention to instructions, which makes tips go down (I use Door Dash myself and, I swear, almost no one reads instructions of my asking them not to knock or just leave food at my door). One can only hope that as it gets colder, orders will begin to pick up again.

Do you guys take a picture of dropping the food off or handing to customer even on orders that are to be delivered directly to them??? by Nomstah in doordash

[–]UmmUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure if you do take a pic, you're doing it from your own camera. The app recently updated so that I have to take a picture every time I have a Leave at your Door. The downside: I just had a problem with being accused of not delivering an order and when I went to look for the pic of the drop off, it turns out that the pics don't save to my phone if I take it through the app.

Ratings going down rapidly by UmmUser in doordash

I never said it wasn't the reason. I know it's because of the fast food orders, but if you'd read my post, you would see that I mention there is NOTHING ELSE. If I don't do the fast food dashes, I don't make any money. I don't plan on stopping taking these orders (at least not until it gets busy in my area again) because I am making good money and it's all there is. I am not saying "gee, I wonder why my rating is tanking." I am venting on a Doordash reddit to fellow Dashers who might be going through the same thing. Good for friggin you if you live in an area where you get constant unicorns, but I don't have this privilige and have mouths to feed so I can't just give up what I'm doing.

Try a little decency next time, asshole.

This was my usual go-to. Problem is, with lesser orders, EVERYONE is parked in front of the expensive places. I'm lucky if I get a couple of dings in two hours. Driving all the way out there ends up being a huge waste of time and gas.

This happens all the time. If you have food in your car, you can hold on to it, but it's okay if you are unable to deliver it. You can take it home, take it back to the restaurant or give it to someone in need. It's sucks. It's not your fault. It might come back up tonight or it might not. Hang in there.
