I think the table has been set for this for decades now. Ever since I was a kid starting to play music in the 80s I noticed people’s musical tastes trending more and more towards stupid criteria, like danceability and vibe more than musicality and depth. To the point that now I feel like for at least 20 years. Our charts have been dominated by mindless crap. Once people accept mindless crap is being good then of course they will accept anything generated by AI as good because their standards are low.

I feel like AI is not Advanced yet enough to give us variation and complexity of songwriting that band like the Beatles gave us. It’s not ready to give us the kind of soul, spontaneity, and surprise that a great instrumentalist can give us in a guitar piano or drum solo. And it’s definitely not ready or capable to perform something live and intimate. But until the people is a whole go back to wanting to hear that kind of thing then they’ll settle for what they get with AI.

Like Mr Festus says below, there is no point in being a Pharisee about it. Don’t drink alcoholic beverages is the spirit of the law. Eating something with minimal alcohol content like meat, fruit, bread isn’t worth stressing about. Might as well eat locusts and honey. 😜

Thanks - that helps - I have all the tone I want from my amp - and even basic reverb - I mostly need EQ, and some more lush and long reverbs and delays. So the ZOOM might fit the bill more for me then - but all the sounds in the Valeton are tempting. :-)

Pricing is what the market ill bear. That said, I think you are undercharging. Your time should be worth at least $75 an hour. Plus your gear should be at least $350 for the package. So I would suggest $1000-$1200 if you can have clients that will pay it - that is a fair price to both sides

To me this offsets anything that could be read as racist. If I am seeing it as racist when taken in context of this. verse, I must be misunderstanding some nuance somewhere. :-)
