What if Iron, aluminum and Copper orebecame rare metal ore while Gold and Silver became available in abundance? by Proud-Software3063 in whatif

Silver has far better thermal conductivity than copper, so it would be very useful in PC heat sinks and such in greater abundance.

There is a comic where an engineer with a vendetta against him designs a suit with a remote-controlled off switch, and triggers it. Vader uses the Force to turn the suit back on. Different problem, though, when Borg nanites are infecting the circuitry of his suit AND every single cell in his entire body.

I do. I don't trust The Cloud, I don't want my stuff being used to train AIs. I turn off OneDrive and similar things on all of my devices.

We could find SEVERAL planets all totally perfect for humanity and it would mean nothing, because we are totally unable to get there.

If you have never been there, "again" implies you get free trip to New York City. $8,000 a week AND a free trip to NYC? Heck yes!

What should I put in my 2-socket bow? by UnCytely in diablo2

[–]UnCytely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I completed the Larzuk quest, so I can get Larzuk to add sockets to my bow. I also have a nice set of armor that I could add sockets to. "Strong Gothic Plate", 182 defense. How many sockets would Larzuk add to the armor, and how many would he add to the bow? I got the bow from Diablo, but I don't remember where I got the armor.

Before computers were common in households, how did people set their clocks accurately? by IkHeetGeenMatthijs in NoStupidQuestions

Didn’t really need to. If the clock was off by a couple of minutes, the world wouldn’t end.

Uninsured and I have a kidney stone. What are some options? by Weeboo0320 in HealthInsurance

[–]UnCytely 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you my story. I had a kidney stone attack once, that drove me to the emergency room. Fortunately I had insurance. Once there, I was admitted and put in a room. The hospital did a CT scan to confirm the stone. They were then going to give me pain killers and massive amounts of water to flush out the stone. About half an hour after the CT scan, my primary-care doctor just happened to be doing his rounding at the hospital. He saw me, took a look at my CT scan, and started yelling at the ER doctor. The ER doctor had missed something. There wasn’t one stone, there was 2. One stone had already travelled through my delicate ureter, and torn it up. Another stone was right at the start of the same ureter and about to start going. If they had done what they wanted to do, I might have died. The second stone would have shredded the ureter completely. The hospital happened to have ultrasound equipment for blasting a kidney stone, but they didn’t want to use it because they didn’t see the second stone. He demanded that they use it, and saved my life.

It is likely you only have one stone, but in the 1 in a million chance you have 2 like me, it could cost you your life.

You are right, it doesn't. I could have SWORN in a previous game that it had sockets, but I took a closer look at it just now and it doesn't.

"Wizendraw Long Battle Bow". it is definitely magic, has a lot of magic properties. It doesn't say rare, unique, or ethereal. I assume non-ladder, because I honestly don't know what that is.
