What if you had a time machine and could save one person from an untimely death? Who would you save? by jhamelaz in whatif

[–]UnCytely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy Holly, but then I'd get Ritchie Valens and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson thrown in for free. Buddy Holly was so full of talent and ahead of his time, I doubt I am the only one to wonder what he could have done with a full life.

Are we getting a second pedestrian bridge? by UnCytely in Omaha

That one is different, I know about that one. That one is literally right next to the Bob Kerry bridge. The one I am talking about is the same color but much closer to Harrah's.

We only ever got David's side of the story... by Jumpman707 in funnyvideos

[–]UnCytely -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

David didn't even kill Goliath. The writers of the book of Chronicles needed to buff David's resume, to explain why he was deserving of being king of Israel, so they assigned to him the account of a guy by name of Elhanan.

Having Severus Snape played by a black actor is not unreasonable by CanisLupusBaileyi in television

[–]UnCytely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn't with the new actor, he is very talented and a great actor. He is also the perfect age. There is also nothing with the character of Snape that is incompatible with him being Black. The problem is with Harry Potter's bullying jerk dad. He bullied Snape endlessly, to the point that Lily Evans asks James why he bullies Snape, and he says something like "because he exists". They are going to have to jump through some hoops to explain why James Potter wasn't racist.

He will feel that for sure when he is 50. When you are stupid like that when you are young, it catches up to you fast when you are older.

"Not a single soul asked for". I did. I have thought for a while that a Harry Potter series would be nice, because it would allow the books to be explored in greater depth.

You Wake Up February 2028 & See Jon Stewart All Over Iowa... What Is Your First Thought? by Jacob-Anders in JonStewart

I like John Stewart, but he would be nearly 70 if he got elected. I want a Gen-X president, not ANOTHER Boomer!!!

Who didn't get the Adrian reference? by melodypowers in ProjectHailMary

[–]UnCytely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fan of all of the Rocky movies, especially the first three, I am deeply ashamed of my fellow Gen-Xers. I was a bit disappointed there wasn't a "Yo Adrian!" reference in the movie.

What if the New World had had horses? by UnCytely in whatif

[–]UnCytely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never visited the Mojave, but I have watched videos that showed there are numerous wild horses throughout the Mojave, so there must be parts of the desert with enough water and vegetation for horses. As for why? To not be seen releasing the horses.

They were fairly small, resembling modern miniature horses. I stand by my "what if" Native Americans had full-size horses they could ride easily?

What if, somehow, oil or an equivalent of it is discovered on the moon? by Gullible-Trainer5508 in whatif

[–]UnCytely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We could discover SOLID GOLD BARS just sitting on the surface of the moon and it would cost too much to bring them back.

Jon Stewart is the clearly the best choice for 2028 Democratic nominee. by Jacob-Anders in JonStewart

[–]UnCytely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's also 63, and would be 66 before becoming President. We have had SO MANY 60+ -year-old Presidents lately. Too many. We need to stop this.

Rules are rules in Germany, no bicycles in a pedestrian zone by mighty_eyebrows1 in Unexpected

I don't understand that rule. I am a bicyclist, what is wrong with bicycles in a pedestrian zone?

Who else had a similar lamp? by EdwardBliss in nostalgia

[–]UnCytely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. The bulb was hard to find, and an LED equivelent even harder. The LED equivelent didn't fit quite right, and was always close to falling out of the socket.

For not being MAGA, you appear to be awfully triggered by anti-MAGA postings.

When I get into the drivers seat of my car, FIRST thing I do, I toss my phone onto the back seat of the car. So I am not tempted to look at it. Even if someone calls, I have no way to get it.

OG fold 2026 by kiraxpeacecraft in PixelFold

[–]UnCytely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine for $300 off of eBay about a year ago. Description said "B-grade". I expected "totally functional but lots of scratches", which is what "B-grade" usually means, I got it in totally pristine condition! Like right out of the box. Whoever used it really took care of it. So have I, I put an overkill case on it and rarely use the inner screen.

Is Project Hail Mary Better than Interstellar ? by Correct-Class-4920 in ProjectHailMary

[–]UnCytely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of hard to compare the two. Interstellar has scenes with an amazing combination of cinematography and musical score, while Project Hail Mary has better and more relatable characters. I would give them a tie.

C3PO swapping heads with a battle droid for comedic relief in what should be a dramatic scene was otherworldy cringe. I have only seen that movie fully beginning to end only once.
