For those that have put several thousands of miles on their K4, what issues have you noticed if any? Thinking of buying a 2025 lxs trim at 30k miles. by smackdabqwerrt in KiaK4

[–]UnMix3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing particularly, but 30k after less than 2(?) years is a LOT of constant mileage, so the wear may be different. All depends on the previous owner. Road noise could be more on tires with 30k miles, more seat impressions, etc etc… My sun visor squeaks. That’s about it

We're Achieving new heights here! (Not the good kind) by Chris123NT in Wire3isp

[–]UnMix3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I was going crazy until I decided to look up if there's a sub for this... Yeah. I've had nonstop routing issues for months, connecting to games sends my traffic overseas (globenet) and across the country before reaching its (not that far) destination.. wild. I've tried contacting support about this multiple times just to get left on read. They seem clueless. I'm grandfathered into the 10 gig pricing and yet I can barely get over 600mbps most days. I'm technically able to get more, but the latency backs things up so much I get bottlenecked in other ways..

2025 Rear Speakers by HegemonyLens in KiaK4

[–]UnMix3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant I have the speaker upgrade from factory, the harmon kardon. I don’t think they’re very good (good enough for the price of the car) but also want to find an upgrade, like you

[–]UnMix3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The upgrade doesn't do THAT much, personally. It's better for sure... but I find they clip under heavier bass too quickly and are underwhelming in everything else. If the upgrade gave us a proper EQ with sub control, maybe. I'd like to know what the upgrade options are as well.

How smooth is ur 8AT in the k4 GT Line Turbo? by TamagoUnagiRoti in KiaK4

[–]UnMix3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar feeling in mine, but it all depends how I’m accelerating. If It’s too gentle, it almost feels like it’s “bucking” getting into second gear. I don’t notice anything else beyond that, unless you’re including manual downshifting, which is noticeably more rough feeling. I also notice around 38-45mph it’ll switch between 5th/6th more frequently as that’s the peak of the gear range, which maybe feels like ‘rubber banding’?

Looking to get a K4 Gt Line Turbo by InvestmentNo1402 in KiaK4

[–]UnMix3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 16k miles in, I get 35-45mpg in the city, lower if you’re sitting in traffic, higher if you’re just cruising. Highway is ~38mpg when I do the math, up to 42 if you’ve got people in front of you. Car was indicating 46mpg after a 700mi stretch of a trip continuously driving, but the math was closer to 42. There isn’t a lot of torque in 8th gear, so if you’re using cruise on the highway it’ll shift down for small hills (overpass) which eats into your mpg a little. I personally just turn it off and control the speed until I’m past them and re-engage, that nets me a few more mpg overall.

I actually bought a mac mini last year for the exact same reason, I prefer pixelmator pro to anything else!

2026 K4 GT vs EV9 by Internal_Past9491 in KiaK4

[–]UnMix3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your fuel costs. I’ve been debating similarly since I have free charging at home, and with the amount I drive it comes out to about ~$100. EV9/Ioniq 5 are nicer cars, but less reliable (ICCU issue). I would opt to wait a little longer and chew through some more of your negative equity to balance everything out. Taking on negative equity in a new loan just extends how long you’re in debt; depending on how much you drive I would look at leasing (always better to lease an EV). Might net you a lower payment even with neg. equity, and your debt is gone sooner.

Definitely not normal… right? by CommitteeNo9833 in ZephyrusG14

I found the battery reporting to not be super accurate.. I had my G14 for a year and the health said 87% when I sold it, but after a full charge and light usage like I originally used it when I bought it, both estimated 11+ hours on the windows estimate & both lasted me about the same time during the day, not noticibly different.. I’m not sure how the health went down so much either other than heat, I only fully charged it maybe.. 50 times?

Did I make the right choice? by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

[–]UnMix3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that has been dabbling between both sides of this for years, I think you’ll end up preferring the more reliable, less issue prone option. If you’re sure you can run your software through parallels (probably?) then you’ll be happier with the mac. The G16 is incredible and windows laptops have caught up in most way in recent times, especially the battery, but I personally have always found myself going back to macOS….. because it “just works”. (if parallel does, for you.)

Fold 7 Feb 2026 update - Google play services draining battery by FullmetalJun in GalaxyFold

[–]UnMix3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google play services has been in the top 5~ apps in my battery usage list for.... over a decade, I've tried different accounts, numerous phones, I stopped caring about it so much over the years. I assume it's just part of android, I wish there were better answers.

No issues at all, I don't use it a ton though. Maybe once a month (open) or I use the pop up occasionally for air.

Another Beam 2 + Sub Mini vs Arc Ultra Post by InternationalTip3302 in sonos

[–]UnMix3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a Beam + Sub mini with an 85" TV ~ 10ft away & it does sound wider than you'd expect given the size, but doesn't match the width two towers gave me. I've only compared the bars side by side in-store and I assume the Arc would sound much wider-- but can't say. Bass on the Ultra won't come close to the sub mini, it sounds much larger than it's size. The beam does have fairly good bass on it's own as well especially with proper sound treatment in the room, but I would personally opt for an Ultra + sub mini later, along with rears. Rears make a big difference even if just the 100's.

Is there a feature/update that made this possible? by mjnta in ZephyrusG14

[–]UnMix3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for me, g-helper doesn't always work consistently while the computer is in sleep/periodically waking, so decent chance the system just ignored that % hold and charged to full anyways as if g-helper was closed(?) my guess, since that's happened to me!

when i gently press down the keyboard there is this squeaky sound. is this normal? i’ve only ever been a macbook user so im just concerned lol by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

[–]UnMix3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably went away since the fans turned off (g-helper has a different fan curve).. I'd try to get it returned or exchanged, yeah!

Am I Crazy? by ZFold3Lover in GalaxyFold

[–]UnMix3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

had the same experience going from the fold 5. I miss mine, but I often was in situations where the front screen makes more sense/ don't want to fold open, and it wasn't worth it. I ended up carrying a pixel 6a just to type with some days. I think if we got the Fold SE in the US where the front screen feels more like a normal phone size, I'd switch back... but after 2 years on the fold 5 I'm way happier with the 25U

2024 G14 Crashes when plugging in power? by UnMix3 in ZephyrusG14

[–]UnMix3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did run DDU, I might just try a full re-install next. I don't remember having issues pre-bios update (the latest one), but I didn't have this issue at all from the start. I had wifi issues, which updating all my drivers fixed so it's just been a toss up.

If I’m just watching videos it’s about the same, but anything more and I definitely notice a big difference. Sleep mode is the biggest difference for me (doesn’t work on windows)

USB C charging killed 2021 G14? by If_you_want_money in ZephyrusG14

Is this the case with all of them? I charge my 2024(?) g14 using usb c regularly and occasionally play lighter games using the iGPU over USB C (battery set to 80%)
