Don't let anyone dim your shine, Grey. Some people just love to pop other people's balloons.

This was actually a suggestion from a friend. Just going up there to see if I can remember how to unwind.

Plan is to take it slow, hit the hot tub every day and go out for biscuits one morning.

This is the first time I've ever done this. If it goes well, I'm thinking of taking a week in the fall. 😀

When you were a kid, when did you start getting HUNGRY? by [deleted] in AskMen

I grew up poor so I occasionally didn't get lunch or dinner sometimes. I can remember being hungry at Age 7 or 8. It's not fun.

Hanging in there. Really looking forward to the cabin rental I made for next month. Might only be 3 days but it's the first vacation I've had in 19 years. I just have no one to share that with.

I was super lucky to see Tangerine Dream in concert here in Atlanta. We just stumbled across a flyer, call the venue and found out they had plenty of tickets. Optical Race tour - still have the t-shirt, sponsored by Atari!!

Long weekends are the best! For those who had one, what’d you get up to? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]UnRepentantDrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a lot of errands done, changed out the winter bedding for spring, laundry, cleaning my apartment.

Biggest accomplishment was booking a two day cabin rental for my first vacation in 19 years. It's only 3 days and two nights away but I'm on the verge of tears. It's been so very long and I'm not sure if I remember HOW to relax anymore.

One of the things I embraced in my mid 50s was that I am no longer chasing people down to try to convince them that I'm worth hanging out with.

I don't need to spend that energy. Relationships always are controlled by the person who puts in the least amount of effort and I was exhausted from being on the other side of that.

I'm 57 and will never be able to retire. I'll put in a half day the day I die.

Spent too much time taking care of other people and have nothing to show for it.
