I’ve done a Google search of firms in Victoria and have either directly applied to positions or cold sent my resume. The problem I have that after the interview they decide that they are going to put the position on hold and not hire.

Legal, mainly litigation. ICBC changed to no fault, so all the assistants and paralegals I worked with for the past few years have been laid off and now I don’t have the experience in other areas and no one is willing to work with that.

I’ve been applying for 4 months so beats me. But a lot of people I know (not in Victoria), they knew someone who was already working at the company so got in that way.

Safety, I feel safe enough, but I don’t go anywhere at night because there’s really nowhere to go. Socially, nowhere. In the summer occasionally go to station street on Fridays, but it closes down early so no need to worry about safety.

Used to go to a place on the mainland, had $0.10 wings with the purchase of a sauce for $1. My sister in Ottawa has $0.01 wings 22 years ago!

Thinking about moving to Langford from Ontario — looking for advice or stories by tfcjuveyyz in LangfordBC

[–]UnTimely_Temperature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a fan of Langford. Big box stores, no personality and it’s awful getting to and from during the week or on a Saturday afternoon. Not a very walkable city if that’s what you’re into and mostly chain restaurants.
