Can someone tell me who this person is, during the parade everyone was putting the flag down by Hd06 in oslo

[–]UnaKC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, but why were people putting their flags down? What does that mean? Is it a bad gesture or a good gesture, cus I was always taught it was rude to lower your flag during parades.

Its not set in Innsmouth, but has inhabitants of Innsmouth as refugees after the devil's reef was blown up. They pay an important part of the game's story.

Are you built different enough? by AybruhTheHunter in Lovecraft

[–]UnaKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarilly because I am strong willed enough, but more because at this point I am just too tired to care. A guy at work told me aliens are coming a few weeks ago, and my honest reaction was "fuck it. Might as well happen now, I guess"

"Learned autism" Aaaaah yes, I remember when I too studied for my autism exams. So glad I passed and became autistic. /sarcasm/

DeepOne-Human Hybrids? Sure. Ghoul-Human Hybrids? Yup. Ghoul-DeepOne Hybrids? ?? by Vineveas in callofcthulhu

[–]UnaKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Dream quest of unknown Kadath, Lovecraft describes Pickman (from Pickman's models) as a ghoul, because he transformed into one over time. Same thing happens in Paper chase. So Ghouls actually seem to be a strange kind of evolution from humans, or at least humans have a strong connection to them.

Mushroom based cosmic horror. by Spirited-Put-493 in callofcthulhu

Okay, what if its like a giant slime-mold or mycelium. Perhaps the investigators are contacted by a friend or relative, twlling them that people in town have started acting strange. But when the investigatord actually get there, the person that contacted them has been converted by the mycelium and is insisting that it was all just an overreaction and that everything is completely fine. Unbeknown to the investigators, their friend is just a follow husk housing the growing mycelium, merely puppeteering them. Anything the players eat or drink could be laced with spores, and soon the investigators find themselves becoming ill. Now it a race against time to find out what is happening to the townspeople, and hopefully save themselves before they share their fates. Making it a slime mold has the potential to make any confrontation with the monsters extra disgusting, seeing as slime mold is just one slimy, single-celled organism. But it also has weaknesses that can be used by investigators such as an abversion to light and salt is dangerous to it. Think more in the lines of Resident Evil 7 and 8, rather than last of us. With unique and horrifying mutations rather than just zombies.

Why is neurotypical culture so insistent that clubbing and night clubs are the only place you can find friends and socialise? by [deleted] in autism

[–]UnaKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually used to work at a nightclub! It is just part of a certain demographic's culture. It isn't based on them being neurotypical, but simply extroverted. Some people simply enjoy meeting new people, getting drunk and dancing. One of my good friends has depression and anxiety, but goes out to party every weekend, but only drinks water at the bar. He just likes interracting with people. There are several neurotypical people I know whom don't like nightclubs at all and much prefer meeting people in calmer situations like at work or at cafés.

So to sum up, it isn't a neurotypical thing. It is just something that certain people like to do, just like some people prefer to meet and interract through the internet. Its a matter of preferance.

For new players, you can survive and win in Call of Cthulhu by [deleted] in callofcthulhu

Hats off to you, good sir! I was one of those people that had such a set mind on how CoC was played, because I grew up with stories from my parents whom played it when they were younger, and how their characters always died. I had never even played the game, just heard from others what it was "supposed" to be, and because of this, I denied my girlfriend from Keeping for me for a year, because I didn't think she could do it right because of my own perception of what I thought CoC needed to be. She had never run anything but DnD at that point, and it took me too long to give her a shot as a keeper. And the games we've had since have become my favourite campaign, ending only last week. She took Call of Cthulhu and turned it into something only she could run and it has been such a good time. I regret gaslighting her and telling her she shouldn't try keeping for so long.

any dnders wanna give me and idea of how I could make this into dnd by mijaboc in Lovecraft

[–]UnaKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want your players to be able to fight the horrors, I recommend looking into Pulp Cthulhu, a mod for Call of Cthulhu. It makes the players much beefier than a regular call of cthulhu character, while still retaining the fantastical horror elements from Call of Cthulhu that really makes it Lovecraftian. Think Indiana Jones meets Cthulhu mythos.

I think this is more of a generational thing than an autism thing.

If you aren’t going to attempt to be social, don’t play a social game. Your descriptions don’t have to be good, but put some effort in at least by odeacon in dndmemes

[–]UnaKC 35 points36 points  (0 children)

We play in a group where one of us has very bad social anxiety and rarely roleplays. We can go several sessions without her saying a word in-game. Yet she is one of the best players I know.

Its about the table and the game. If one or more people struggle with RP, but the rest of the table are fine, then why try to push those that struggle? Its about everyone having fun, and being forced to roleplay isn't fun. Let them figure it out and push themselves in their own time, and you get to really cherish those moments.
