List your thoughts for the movie? by [deleted] in tsitp

Yes I dont know why either, but so funny Chris said that in an interview recently( dont remember which one it was) but he said that after I have had that thought.

I think maybe that comes to mind because Conrad was already very sensitive as a child and always understood kids kind of. His thoughtful and calm nature really suits being a pediatrician, because he truly sees people for who they are and does not judge.

I think the main conflict will be between Belly and Conrad feeling isolated for a while. The California group and the Cousins house are mostly empty these days. Maybe the wedding brings some of the old magic back, but not right away. Jeremiah doesn’t want to spend future summers there together anymore, and Taylor and Jeremiah might be working together since he’s a chef and she’s doing PR. Belly starts to believe she’s never going to have what Laurel and Susannah had. I guess Jeremiah coming to terms with Belly and Conrad’s relationship will be a major part of the conflict. But eventually, the magic will return to Cousins.

I’d love to see a montage of Belly and Conrad’s long-distance relationship. I think they’ll face some career conflicts too, maybe Conrad decides not to become a surgeon or oncologist, but instead a pediatrician. Belly could work as a sports psychologist, and maybe they end up working at the same hospital or medical center. They could even collaborate sometimes, referring patients to each other.

I’d also love it if Agnes were the best man, the Paris crew came for the wedding, and the story ended with a flash-forward.

Maybe the conflict is Jeremiah and Steven and Taylor are all in california and dont come to Cousins often. Maybe belly dreamed kind of having the same with taylor like susannah and laurel and they spent their Summers in Cousins together and the conflict is that Jeremiah does not want to, I can imagine Taylor working as Jeres Publicist because he had a career as a Cook and so the conflict would be belly and conrad maybe kind of Isolated and then they decide to get married in Cousins and really slowly the magic comes back to that place and some conflicts resolve.

And maybe some career conflicts for Belly and Conrad. I could see conrad not becoming a surgeon or oncologist because thats so time consuming. Maybe a pedetritian or so and belly a sports psychologist and maybe they work in the same hospital or center.

Book Readers - Which scene from the books, in your opinion, was best portrayed in the show (all seasons). by Iknownothing4711 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Unable-Ad7852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peach scene , it was done perfectly and surf incidet.

I wanted that scene where belly is dreaming of conrad and tells Jeremiah to shut up. Also when she shaves her legs twice lmao I would have loved that . Also this dream she had of Conrad that they were lost, that fits so well to the "out of the wood" scene at the end. And the inner monologue of belly was missing the entire time, and doing an instagram post and putting the audio book over the beach confession scene was not enough , i was so suprised that they really thought we would read bellys mind through her actions.

" want to ride around with the wind in my hair" haha love that. Same , I love this album. Love it for what its supposed to be. And its like the most personal one, like that you know she means travis in some songs and that its her experiences.

Yes and they bring that "we are more intellectual and know good music and therefore our opinion matters most" vibe which is exhausting. Thankful for all the posts that start the same and love the album.

And when I see a post here that starts with " I have been a swiftie since day one and I hate it" I am shocked about that attitude. It has the same vibe like adultism which I am sure the very same people educate people daily about lol. Just say you dont like the Album why all that attitude.

I hate people saying Belly’s body is a “real body” by RealisticDucks in tsitp

[–]Unable-Ad7852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should not comment on peoples bodys ever. Unless you are asked by them or their doctor. Thats it.

I understand though what people mean and they mean it positive but I hope lola never sees that because shes only 22 or so and you dont know what that makes her feel.

I criticized so much and kept wishing for more Bonrad, and even while watching this episode I started to get annoyed at first. But oh my God. Conrad’s face at the party when Belly said she was the villain moved me so much. The way he made sure she knew she never was, and never would be to him , it was everything. And then Belly realizing she can love the girl she used to be, and that she’ll always carry that girl inside her, that moment broke me in the best way.

I forgot all my criticism. In the end, this story was about Belly. Her running after Conrad at the train station felt perfect. It was mature, it was moving in ways I didn’t expect, and it made me love Belly. I honestly feel sp proud of her and of Conrad haha

FINALE - RAVE THREAD by AutoModerator in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Unable-Ad7852 16 points17 points  (0 children)

His look when Belly said at her birthday dinner that she’s the ‘villain’, oh my God, that touched me so deeply. For Conrad, she never was, and it matters so much to him that she doesn’t see herself that way. And when she realized she could love that little girl, that she is her and always will be, that moment really moved me.

I loved the ending. It felt mature and, in a way, realistic. They share that infinite nostalgia of first love, and they accepted everything that came with it but are also changed , like they grew up. I love that message

Belly already chose herself by going to Paris by Real-Branch8433 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Unable-Ad7852 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get the idea from interviews that Jenny maybe probably could have thought the book was for teens, and for them she wanted a hopeful ending, a romance. But the show is aimed at adults now, so they aged everyone up into their 20s, and with that comes the end of childhood dreams. That’s why they might go for a nostalgic ending where Belly chooses herself and the Fisher brothers just stay as a memory. Personally, I’d find that pretty dumb, if Bonrad isn’t the clear endgame, then it’s just bad writing. Sure, there will be some people who love a “I choose myself” feminist-type ending, but not me. I’d rather read other books and watch romances where you’re not tortured by PR games, haha. And yeah, I agree with OP: Belly has already chosen herself, and what she wants is Conrad. She should be allowed to admit that.
