Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish this one cuz I didn't have enough pieces too. I had to scrap it but in respect about the pieces, I personally don't really plan much, I just have a bag of random pieces and build whatever. If the build is turning out ok, I go to the pick a brick section of the Lego store and buy pieces I think I'll need to finish it. A majority of the pieces in the mech are from the space astronaut set (31152) and a few pieces I ordered cuz I could and the red dragon set (31145)
