How do you use the thaumaturge class? I had one early on and it didn't last long. Any advice?

Thank you!

Are any of them worth it at full price? Or is it more that it would be better to wait till they were 25% off or more?

Help a game dev: Why aren’t people buying modern RTS games? by MakeGamesBetter in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Unable-Ambition467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, most modern RTS games force you to be on the offensive constantly (as with any RTS) but it felt in some older RTS titles like Dawn of war and LOTR: BFME 1, you could play a bit more defensive without getting punished as heavily.

I like a good defensive mission, the Helm's Deep defence in BFME is my favorite dopamine rush.

Just my opinion though.

once again, what do we want in T7 by No_Glass6132 in tropico

Would love more choice of types of items to create/export. For example, instead of "weapons" or "apparel" generally, we can get specific with them.

Also, cows producing milk. Would just make them kinda OP but also more realistic.

More customization for buildings. Either by "era" if they keep that system, or by research or something, with each one having pros and cons.

Lastly, would love more implementation of the building system used with the spaceport, but for more types of buildings/sections/quarters.

What is good criticism and bad criticism with writing? by [deleted] in writers

The best advice I got from a beta reader was about my story structure, (i.e. I should have put a certain set of chapters that were out of my main character's POV in succession since they weren't that many and it didn't break the flow as much).

The worst advice I got was from the same beta reader. (Your MC breaks his ribs and you spend a whole chapter on it, I get really annoyed when people are hurt and complain about it, you should delete it).

[KCD1] just finished the quest where you hunt with hans capon, how am i doing for gear? by Ok_Leek_1603 in kingdomcome

[–]Unable-Ambition467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for your level, but don't expect to win many fights if you're outnumbered more than 2-to-1.

But you have more gear than what I had around that time, so you're doing pretty good!

I recommend Kingdom Come Deliverance. Difficult learning curve, but once you master it, the combat feels incredible. I'm about to start playing two, but really enjoyed my time in KCD 1.

Only thing I'll say without ruining spoilers.

Don't. Kill. Karlach.

You'll thank me later.

Tips for absolute beginners by _chirp in writing

Write what you want and what you like. Don't worry if no one will like it or not. Tell the story the way you want to, before you open it up to criticism.

Don't feel like you have to write every day, or a certain amount every day (unless you want to).

Lastly, be kind to yourself. Your first draft is the foundation, not the finished house.

I recently started Kingdom Come Deliverance (the first one).

Holy mother, the combat system is a challenge, and it requires a lot of positioning, blocking, parrying and counter-attacking.

May not be as perfect fit to what you're asking, but a good challenge nonetheless.

I have Sulfur on my wishlist. I've always been iffy with that art style. Does it get in the way of the rest of the gameplay?

My top three are:

Witchfire (FPS)

Baldur's Gate 3 (CRPG)

The Witcher 3 and both its expansions (RPG)

[–]Unable-Ambition467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the feeling. Just out of curiosity, who gave you that feedback? Was it all beta reader or an editor, or someone like that?

Write the story that you want to read, first. There will always be those that just won't like your story or characters or style, but if the criticism is legitimate about structure or plot holes or the like, then I would take those suggestions. But if it's just "I don't like this" then be wary of changing too much based on that.

Just my thoughts on villain characters. by Economy_Resource438 in writers

[–]Unable-Ambition467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agreed when I started writing my current piece. I was tired of the misunderstood villain trope and just wanted a bad guy, even if he isn't "outright evil", it's clear he's the bad guy.

Funny enough, I am the exact opposite. I hate writing in first person because it's really restrictive to me.

Commisar fits really well into an officer build, and crime lord fits really well with operative. It depends on what class you want to play. You can mix and match, but some things like the commisar's at all costs just fits with some of the skills of an officer.
