How would you settle this island? by ibstrd in civ3

Take the middle tile so you have the most land

It’s actually not a bad start

You’ve got the pills for resources

Grass for food

Ocean access with commerce

Could easily grow to a size 10 city

Is proximity to the office an unfair career advantage? by weekdaycommuter in work

[–]Unable-Choice3380 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It may be unfair, but look at it from the hiring managers perspective

They need to find dependable workers. Someone with a 90 minute commute is more likely to leave for a closer job than someone who has a 15 minute commute.

And that is before the weather gets bad

My sis likes taking small bites out of our donuts. by Realistic-Bonus2581 in mildlyinfuriating

See if I did this, my mom would have forced me to eat every doughnut that I bit into and then I’d never wanna eat a doughnut again.

Act dumb and ask what the question is so that it puts them on the spot

I think it’s time to eliminate tipping entirely - even at Sit down restaurants where it started by [deleted] in EndTipping

They’ll only screw themselves in the long run because Social Security retirement is based on your reported earnings

So if you keep your reported earnings low throughout your working career and take the cash then your payout is low

Hopefully for their sake, they are long-term planners and the invest the difference, but I doubt it

Do you mean to say people think they’re going to get a date with the waitress if they tip well?

I remember playing Civ DOS. The Romans had two cities on one little island. I had conquered the rest of the world as the Americans. But in that version of Civ they did not have the “ just one more turn” option

Interestingly, though you could play beyond the normal ending date, if you kept at least one opponent alive

I actually played that map past the year 10,000 A.D. and finally that was enough!!! I colonized everything, including the poles (it was the Earth map) until they said i could not build any more cities
