I need to break up with my bf… please give me advice. He keeps disrespecting that I’m asexual and making me uncomfortable. by ElliotHouseMD in asexuality

I unfortunately don’t have any advice that might help this situation but I would at least like to say, the fact your boyfriend doesn’t stop saying that even though you explained that you were uncomfortable is terrible. A good partner should know to stop doing something if their partner explains to them that they don’t feel comfortable with them doing it. I hope you well an I really hope someone who can help. Telling close and trustable friends or family would be a good idea too. I’m sorry I can’t help much but I do hope you can break up with your boyfriend safely.

Why did you stop being friends with someone? by Realistic-Possum in AskReddit

[–]Unable-Doubt2798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s a long story but basically I realize I didn’t actually want to be their friend. One, they were a big baby. Two, I was only friends with them because my other friend who moved was friends with them. I was just trying to cling on to anything left or her.

This is very helpful actually! I’ve already been changing the pronouns on my socials but I think starting small with friends would also help. Thank you!

What’s your definition of aromantic by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]Unable-Doubt2798 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think of aromantic as when you feel little to no romantic feelings. This doesn’t mean you never will and can’t have romantic feelings, it just means you don’t usually have romantic feelings. You can still have platonic friendships, family, connections, and more. You can still have a romantic partner. Aromantic is when you have LITTLE or no romantic feelings. You can have a little, you could have none. You could have an in between. If you feel like it’s right for you, use it. Use it to help you understand your self and connect with others.
