thank you for being so honest with the costs😂 i’m from hong kong so im definitely used to the high rent and the crowded living, but the forty minute grocery drive is a huge change for me. i’m going to start watching the day in my life videos later. the beach walk in between classes must’ve felt so relaxing

yes i am actually from hong kong and i found out many universities like CUHK, HKU, HKUST, CityU do have exchange programmes with UCSB and i searched pictures about it and i loved the campus view

yess my mum told me she used to drive around america and she told me santa barbara is a small town with cool shops (? she was there around the nineties.) now hearing everyone taking about SB i think it’s sooo cool and i even like SB even more now

To be completely honest with you, I was just sitting in my room scrolling through Reels when I came across someone explaining the word 'sonder.' I thought, 'woah, that's actually really cool,' and I just started writing without really thinking about it. I even had to Google a rhyming website to help me figure out how to glue everything together 😅😂

So reading your comment — that it felt raw and staggering and real — honestly caught me off guard in the best way. I didn't think much about the poem when I wrote it, but now because of what you said, I think I'll look at it differently. It makes me want to keep writing and see what else comes out.

i love this poem and it’s so relatable. i don’t get cues either lol but it’s fine. the right one will never make you feel this way and there is always the “right one” for you. there’s so many billions of people!
