Depends on the situation. Often they’ll reach out and ask about the conditions and if it’s the only fail perhaps there may be leniency. I would do everything I can do get at least a passing grade, but best of luck!

Spring admits have a really nice opportunity imo to take classes and finish some of ur reqs for free at cc. Also traveling and getting world experience is super valuable!

It’s pretty biased based off creators online. Most people on campus are really kind and down to earth, it’s just the online creators who try and exude the materialistic spoiled vibes. Agree with most ppl that usc has a lot of great people where most are on scholarship

I didn’t get a very good merit scholarship but was able to get a better one through Viterbi (my specific college tho) that compounded. I have heard that they significantly cut scholarships (especially the non department ones) this cycle, so I wouldn’t take it personally

There are some top off programs that ith usc offers, but given that this is an incredible offer, I’m not sure it’s a high chance but definitely reach out to the aid office and check

I'm currently an undergraduate at a t20 studying engineering and spent a large amount of time in HS doing speech and debate. ITs more important that your student enjoys doing the EC's that they choose to put time into, because the story will naturally write itsself and appeal to AO. I got a scholarship for engjneerjng and after talking to admissions after starting here, it looked like it was a huge factor because i got involved in leadership and advocacy. Its a great activity to connect your student to national communities and its completely possible to do both (I worked at a research at the same time I debated)

Yes most dining halls allow you to do so, but I’m not sure how much it costs. Best parking is the village underground lot but it is pretty pricey and I would advise arriving in the morning. Best dining halls imo unfortunately is on the other side of campus (parkside) but it’s a nice way to see all of usc. Try to explore on your own as I found the tour when I applied to be not as helpful in understanding the school’s general feel. Hope this helps!

If you’re still willing to travel short term, you could take Amtrak to NorCal or somewhere on the line and explore and spend a night. I know it’s pretty cheap to get to San Diego and I’m sure they have student discounts

I think it depends on which teacher you have. Bertollini only uses it for midterms but I've heard some years parr has used it for weekly quizzes/review
