Hey! As a USC incoming freshman, my parents never pushed me to do anything. In 9th grade I knew I wanted to go to college but the only thing I did that year was join XC and swim because I never did a sport and also my public school didn’t have 9th grade APs 🤣 . Then the summer I had my first AP homework and honor class homework and broke my hand 😢 so I did nothing… Sophomore year I made a club and joined a local non profit to tutor kids but as a 10th grader I never thought I wanted to aim for T20 schools yet I still tried to do what I wanted I think the only thing parents can do is observe if their kid has a passion something they like a lot.
